ABOUT

Serax werd in 1987 opgericht en stond aan de basis van een (r)evolutie in de bloemistensector. Ontwerpen van nationale en internationale designers zagen het levenslicht en veranderde deze sector voorgoed. Deze ambitie bepaalt nog steeds het zijn van ­Serax, ­enkel is het speelveld vergroot. Decoratieobjecten, tablewarelijnen en klein meubilair werden ­toegevoegd aan de collectie. Vandaag geldt Serax als een designplatform waar ­synergieën tussen nationale en internationale ontwerpers ontstaan. Serax houdt steeds vast aan de ambitie om haar klanten toegankelijk, kwalitatief en functioneel design aan te b ­ ieden.

Fondé en 1987, Serax inspira une (r)évolution chez les fleuristes, qui ­s’ouvrirent par son entremise aux créations de designers belges et étrangers. Cette ambition demeure le leitmotiv de l’enseigne, mais son champ d’action s’est considérablement accru. Petit mobilier, textiles de table et articles de décoration ont étoffé la collection, dans le respect de la philosophie de base : offrir un design de qualité et accessible. Aujourd’hui, Serax assume un rôle de plate-forme design, suscitant des synergies entre concepteurs belges et étrangers. Plus que jamais, la marque rime avec design fonctionnel, accessibilité et qualité.

Set up in 1987, Serax formed the basis of a significant (r)evolution in the floristry sector.

Designs created by Belgian and international designers emerged and changed this sector forever. This ambition continues to define Serax’s reason for being, except that the playing field has expanded. Decorative objects, tableware collections and small furniture articles have been added to the collection, while never losing sight of the core philosophy of accessibility, quality, design. Today, Serax serves as a design platform, where synergies are created between Belgian and international designers. Serax always retains its ambition of offering its customers accessible, high-quality and functional design.

Serax è stata fondata 28 anni fa, dando origine a una vera e propria “rivoluzione evolutiva” nel settore dei fioristi. Videro la luce creazioni di designer nazionali e internazionali, che cambiarono questo settore in modo permanente. Questo spirito continua a caratterizzare l’essenza di Serax: da allora, soltanto gli orizzonti si sono allargati. Oggetti di decorazione, varie linee di articoli per la tavola e piccoli complementi di arredo si sono via via aggiunti alla collezione, sempre all’insegna della filosofia dell’accessibilità, della qualità e del design.

De klei zelf, dit zachte, soepele, chamotteloze materiaal inspireerde de ontwerpster, Martine Keirsebilck tot het vormgeven van een reeks borden, kommetjes en schalen.

Het resultaat: DUSK. Een servies in een diepe antracietgrijze kleur. Onconventioneel van kleur, vragend om creativiteit en inspiratie van de gebruiker.

C’est l’argile non-chamotté, ce matériau tendre et souple, qui a inspiré la créatrice Martine Keirsebilck pour sa nouvelle gamme d’assiettes, de bols et de plats. Le résultat : DUSK, un service qui se caractérise par un coloris gris anthracite intense. Une couleur peu conventionnelle qui stimule la créativité et l’inspiration de l’utilisateur.

Ontwikkeld voor Peter Goossens, in samenwerking met de Belgische keramiste Ann van Hoey, r­esulteert de behendige dialoog tussen geometrische vormen - van cirkel tot punt - in een ontegensprekelijk gevoel van sierlijkheid en puurheid. De Geometry collectie laat u door zijn zuivere vormen genieten van de verrukking en het genot van elke maaltijd.

Développé par Peter Goossens, en collaboration avec la céramiste belge Ann van Hoey, le dialogue adroit entre formes géométriques – du cercle au point – crée un sentiment indéniable d’élégance et de pureté. “Geometry” was developed for Peter Goossens by the Belgian ceramist Ann van Hoey. Her creation of skilful dialogue between geometric shapes – from the circle to the point – resulted in an irrefutable sense of elegance and purity. The pure forms in the Geometry collection allow you to enjoy the delights and pleasures of each and every meal.

Serax creëert reliëf op de gedekte tafel met het gloednieuwe servies van Chris Mestdagh. Het servies gedoopt Sigillata Signature draagt het signature motief van de ontwerper en is zo gemaakt dat er een kleur- en lijnenspel ontstaat zodra het servies wordt gestapeld. De collectie is beschikbaar in Kefir (wit), Cumin (beige), Clove (bruin) en Juniper (blauw) en is zo gemaakt dat het perfect combineerbaar is, de verschillende kleuren kunnen perfect in harmonie op één tafel worden gebruikt.

The service that carries the name Sigillata Signature, wearing the brand of the designer, creates a play of colours and lines when stacked up. Serax has launched a collection of service of small and large plates with a literal, strong relief, the ideal presentation for tapas and starter dishes. The abstract plates follow a conventional design and leave an indelible impression on each table.

Serax lance un service composé de grandes et petites assiettes, au relief très découpé. C’est le support idéal pour les tapas, apéritifs et amuse-bouche. Ces assiettes aux rondeurs abstraites refusent toute conformité et laissent une forte impression sur la table.

Een combinatie van de verschilldende vormen, plaatsing en hoeveelheden zorgen keer op keer voor een andere invalshoek.

Fanny is an interplay of small square, rectangular and round porcelain jars. The jars, which can be presented on the corresponding underplate, turn every aperitif moment into a charming experience. A combination of the different forms, placement and quantities make for another approach time and time again.

Fanny est un ensemble de petits pots de porcelaine carrés, rectangulaires et ronds. Présentés sur un plateau assorti, ils ajoutent une note pleine de charme à un apéritif par exemple. Les différentes combinaisons possibles de formes, d’emplacement et de quantités offrent à chaque fois un look différent.

Fanny è una composizione di piccoli bicchieri di porcellana, di forma quadrata, rettangolare o rotonda. COMMIRA Antonino is geboren in Palermo. Toen hij acht jaar was begon hij reeds in het atelier van zijn v­ ader met het smeden van ijzer. Hij ging vooral aan de slag met ‘zacht’ ijzer, dat dankzij zijn plooibaarheid gemakkelijker werkbaar was. Voor Serax ­ontwierp hij een exclusieve collectie voor een bredere markt.

Antonino est né à Palerme. Il avait à peine huit ans lorsqu’il commença à forger le fer dans l’atelier de son père. En raison de sa flexibilité, le fer doux devint son matériau de prédilection. À la demande de Serax, il créa une collection exclusive destinée à un marché plus étendu.

Antonino was born in Palermo. When he was just eight years old, he began to forge iron in his father’s studio. He particularly worked with ‘soft’ iron, which is relatively pliable and thus easier to work with. For Serax, he has designed an exclusive collection for a broader market.

Antonino è nato a Palermo. Già all’età di otto anni ha iniziato a praticare la forgiatura del ferro presso il laboratorio del padre, lavorando principalmente con ferro “dolce”, più agevole da forgiare grazie alla sua malleabilità. For the Serax summer collection, Honoré design has designed vintage summer chairs that take us away to 1950’s Côte d’Azur. Chairs with a vintage look you can relax in during the warm summer months. These summer chairs are made of iron and braided rubber and are available in single and double design.

Pour la collection estivale de Serax, Honoré design a dessiné des sièges vintage qui évoquent la Côte d’Azur des années 50, dans lesquels il fait bon de paresser en été. Ils sont fabriqués en fer et élastiques tressés et existent en version mono ou duo.

52 WEEKS

Il progetto “52 weeks” ha trovato la sua origine in un oggetto luminoso con caratteristiche specifiche: una lampada particolare, acquistata in un mercato dell’antiquariato.

L’obiettivo finale era di trasformare la lampada in una serie di oggetti luminosi scolpiti adatti per l’uso quotidiano. In 52 esemplari: uno per ciascuna settimana dell’anno.

Les racines du concept ‘52 weeks’ remontent à la découverte, sur une foire aux antiquités, d’une lampe aux formes surprenantes. Mon objectif consistait à redonner vie à cette lampe ancienne pour aboutir à une série d’objets lumineux sculpturaux modernes, déclinés en 52 variations, une pour chaque semaine de l’année.

The ’52 weeks’ concept originated in a light object she found with specific properties: a special lamp picked up at an antiques market. The amazing shape inspired and motivated me to study certain qualities in more detail. The final objective was to redesign the lamp into a series of contemporary sculptural light objects. 52 objects in fact: one for every week of the year.

Het ’52 weeks’ concept vond zijn oorsprong bij een gevonden lichtobject met specifieke eigenschappen: een bijzondere lamp opgepikt op een antiekmarkt. De doelstelling was om de lamp uiteindelijk te hervormen naar een reeks hedendaagse sculpturale lichtobjecten. En wel, 52 stuks: één voor elke week van het jaar.

MEER DAN 25 JAAR In 1987 besloten Axel en Serge Van Den Bossche de zaak van hun moeder over te nemen.

Na enkele jaren versterkte Frank Lambert, tevens actief in de sector, het Antwerpse bedrijf.

De bestaande collectie bloempotten groeide onder SERAX al snel uit uit tot een vernieuwend assortiment voor bloemisten en interieurzaken.

Vandaag telt de collectie van Serax niet minder dan 4000 interieurobjecten, gaande van origineel glaswerk over elegante serviezen tot sfeervolle objecten en eigentijds kleinmeubilair.

Deze collectie weerspiegelt de key waarden van Serax: vernieuwend en toegankelijk design.

Het bedrijf speelt met zijn eigenzinnige kijk op de huidige trends duidelijk in op de behoeftes van bloemisten en interieurzaken. Om vernieuwing en creativiteit te verzekeren werkt Serax samen met toonaangevende designers uit binnen- en buitenland.

Frank Lambert, déjà actif dans ce secteur, rejoint l’entreprise anversoise quelques années plus tard. La collection de pots de fleurs commercialisée sous le nom de Serax se fait rapidement une renommée d’innovation auprès des fleuristes et établissements de déco intérieure. Aujourd’hui, la collection Serax dénombre environ 4000 articles intérieurs, de tous types : créations originales en verre, services raffinés, élégants objets décoratifs, petits meubles contemporains… Cet assortiment reflète les valeurs de Serax : un design innovant et accessible. Par son regard singulier sur les tendances actuelles, l’entreprise répond clairement aux besoins des fleuristes et des magasins de décoration. After just a few years Frank Lambert, also active in the sector, reinforced the Antwerp company. Nel 1987 Axel e Serge Van Den Bossche decisero di rilevare l’azienda materna. Dopo alcuni anni l’azienda belga accolse Frank Lambert, anch’egli operante all’interno del settore.
