Wedding Stationery Trends 2019

A wedding invitation is your guests’ first glimpse of your big day, and the thing that sets the tone for what’s in store!

We’re expecting big things from happy couples in 2019, with weddings dominated by bold, moody colour schemes that enhance all the feelings of romance, and let’s not forget our obsession with anything personalised when it comes to wedding stationery.

Here is a rundown of trends that look to dominate.

Invitation belly bands

At Blushing Confetti, we are loving invitation belly bands (you know, the cute paper that holds it all together!) with a story, poem or meaningful quote. It’s a small detail often overlooked, but the perfect way to add a special touch to the invitation.

Rose gold foiling is a trend that’s here to stay, and we’re certainly happy about it! We saw this tone take over everything from homewares to stationery in 2018 and we certainly don’t see people’s love for this trend fading just yet. Translucent layered paper

Finally, we are seeing a major comeback for the humble translucent sheets of layered paper. While some may remember these being huge for noughties weddings, when there was a serious layering trend, we’re calling it now - Vellum is making a comeback!

This light, cotton blend paper has a beautiful translucent, frosted finish and is the perfect way to line coloured stock with a subtle, handdrawn print. It is also sturdy enough to be printed on for the actual invitation. A look we love for 2019 is wedding stationery finished with white ink on a translucent vellum.
