“I am not what I am, I am what I do with my hands”, with these words the famous artist Louise Bourgeois defined his essence and work. That is our vision of the handcrafted world, something we create with our hands and we give of ourselves. Regula, Miriam, Rebecca, Ploy and Isabel also share this philosophy. Five designers who have built their own universe, showing everyone their passion for fashion, design and cuisine from different places, but with shared corners. And as we want to be a guide to all that it is trendy in the world Arts & Crafts, in this issue you will find different recommendations to practice your favourite hobby: crochet a sweet amigurumi in size XXL, recycle salvaged clothes from your closet to transform them into something much more current, or create your own homemade cosmetics with chocolate, among many other projects that you will discover throughout more than 100 pages. And at the end of the publication you’ll find a gallery of artwork signed by different artists that you can use to decorate your workspace. The Sewing Box 2 is full of ideas that you will fall in love with and that you can not stop doing not only for yourself, but also for others.

This 25 year-old Thai was so fascinated by this technique, she decided to create a small collection of accessories and clothing (under the name Need a new needle), where she mixed her passion for drawing and embroidery. Although this was not her first contact with handmade; « graduated in Decorative Arts, specializing in different handmade techniques. The charm of imperfection has always caught my attention, the process rather than the end result, and although I was working as a graphic designer for a year, I soon discovered what I really wanted to do.»

This artist from Seville has never been able to put aside her passion for the creative process, for her it is a form of expression that has ended up, so far, but not permanently, as a brand of small rag dolls.

ÂŤOver the years and being lucky enough to have inspiration close by, you discover that this game is your passion and you rush into it, although you do other artistic studies before taking up the thimble more consciously.Âť

This is a very easy pattern to follow. You will see that with a simple change you can make tons of different shapes. So, if you use thinner materials and smaller tools (such as cotton and a 3 mm crochet hook) it will result in a smaller amigurumi. Whatever you’d like! Always start with a 6 stitch magic ring, and finish all parts before beginning to assemble and put the details.
