Dear Friend,

Contents

When I bought my bright blue Dodge last winter, I commented that it was a unique color and model, one I had never seen. Almost immediately, everywhere I drove I saw not only the exact color blue but would frequently find myself parked near the exact same car. Has this happened to you? You learn about something new or start looking for a particular item to purchase, and you see it everywhere

you turn? This is a small part of the law of attraction—or energy in action. Our thoughts, our attention, put a desire into action and thereby create manifestation. My mom has always joked that I’m a Master Manifestor--implying that I get anything I desire. This isn’t totally true; but, I do get a lot of what I want. What I’ve learned through the years is a process of creation. Think of a Mind Map: You have a central idea or goal. From there you branch off with sub-ideas and other items that instantly come to mind. It’s a brainstorming technique that’s used as a visual way of learning and has been proven to help with retention. But it’s also a way I personally view the law of attraction. For example, and back to my mom’s reference that I get what I want, I manifest my desires in a way similar to the mind map. I have a central desire. I will put out branches in many directions, without the constraint of attachment. Because when I have many ‘pots in the fire’ as they say, it’s easy to release attachment—that need that can hinder the flow of energy—and wait for what comes next. It’s a passive process (one of releasing the need to acquire and being open to what flows in from what is put out), but it’s also an active (passionate) process. By making decisions and putting them into motion, I start the momentum for a desire to manifest and return. And something always does. Because of my fascination with the process of creation, the October “Energy in Action” issue is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy the variety of articles we have focusing on energy, manifestation, and the Law of Attraction.

Journey to Wholeness

Your Quantum Life BY JUDE LACLAIRE, PH.D.

A

recent experience confirmed for me what I have come to believe and practice after much study and life learning. A client was very sad and upset that she was separated by thousands of miles from her much loved dog. The vet had let her know that the dog was not doing well and needed a specific procedure. We spent some time imagining that she was with her, soothing and calming the dog. I encouraged her to send healing thoughts and images. Later that day she called to tell me she had spoken to the vet, and he told her they did the procedure, and her dog was doing well. He also let her know the dog was so calm and relaxed they did not need to anesthetize the dog for the procedure. She asked when this took place, and learned it was approximately the time she was sending her healing thoughts and images. I am sure that many of you have had similar experiences of sending or receiving energy, whether with animals or fellow humans. What does this tell us about the nature of life and how we can be more deeply transformative in how we view energy flow? Much of my paradigm shift began in the 70s when I was exploring holistic approaches to counseling, education, and physical health. My own health issues led me to explore biofeedback, homeopathy, acupuncture, Rolfing, meditation, guided imagery, and dream work. I began to learn about approaches that were based on the principles of the interconnectedness of mind and body, and the self and the environment. I began to learn that the power of what we think, say, or do can change both the inner and outer worlds and the ability to recognize different states of consciousness play a role in healing. I read Fritjof Capra’s book, The Tao of Physics (1975) with great

“He recognized the recurring patterns of life in art, music, myths, and culture as ‘archetypes.’ He taught us to acknowledge the transcendent function, which goes beyond the sensory process.” fascination as he talked about the paradigm shift from the mechanistic and reductionistic Newtonian and Cartesian theories of physics to the more holistic and ecological views of quantum physics. “Quantum theory thus reveals a basic oneness of the universe.” He noted that, “The scientific view of universe is coming, in essence, to that of the Asian religions.” He more specifically mentions Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism. They understood the interconnectedness of all things-that the ultimate reality is hidden in all things and events. We see quantum physics and other modern sciences substantiating ancient sacred traditions.

Studying Carl Jung’s psychology helped me to see the personal transformational power of embracing this view of life. He described the unexplained and interconnected events happening in harmony for others and us as ‘synchronicity.’ He recognized the recurring patterns of life in art, music, myths, and culture as ‘archetypes.’ He taught us to acknowledge the transcendent function, which goes beyond the sensory process. In the early 80s, Rupert Sheldrake, a biochemist and author, wrote Morphic Resonance talking about the inherent memory in life, which he observed in animals. He cited examples of dogs, cats, and other animals having what appeared to be

EVOLVINGMAGAZINE.COM

telepathic abilities to sense when their owners would return home, would anticipate earthquakes and tsunamis, and could also anticipate seizures or other medical problems with humans. In his early experiments he asked owners to come home at different times of the day and with different transportation modes, telling no one of their plans. The dogs, cats, and birds would begin their anticipatory behaviors like going to the door, looking out the window, chirping their song, etc. He summarized his studies and over 4,500 reports from others in his 1999 book, Dogs That Know When Their Owners Are Coming Home! And Other Unexplained Powers of Animals. These amazing teachers and life explorers help us to understand the interconnection of all life and how we can communicate in ways that go beyond the boundaries of time and space. It empowers us to use the moment in healing ways for ourselves and others. Just as my client could change the life of her dog thousands of miles away, we can change ourselves and our environment by what we think, imagine, and do. Remember and use your powers often!

Wisdom Within

Free Yourself from “The Judge” BY SUZETTE SCHOLTES

I

met with an executive the other day for the first time. I shared that my work is teaching yoga. His look and body language altered the conversation. The frozen smile could not mask his arrogance and superiority. He may as well have said to me, “So where exactly do you wait tables?” Not that there is anything wrong with waiting tables! (see here it is easy to slip into a judgment.) Yoga teaches us to watch the nature of our thoughts, feelings, and the power of our choices. I speak often how important this is. If we find ourselves being harsh or unkind to ourselves, learn to “flip the switch.” One way to flip the switch is to feel gratitude for the good we have or to remember the love. Judging self or others is not the same as discernment. While judgment can be destructive, discernment is still needed to live from a place of wisdom and choice. If you are at the grocery and see apples shiny and red or apples brown and rotting, which do you choose to buy? Often judging others is hiding some unconscious need to feel superior, yet the persons passing out the judgment have no clue. In their heads, they are golden. I would suggest, but it is subjective, that people who judge harshly may have issues with self-trust or trusting others. Or they are so full of themselves, they have to bulldoze their opinion around like those big SUVs that dominate the highway. Each of us have the right to think and choose to make our decisions based on our assessments, our boundaries, our beliefs, and hopefully, “to cause no harm.” We need to discern what and who we want to take on, what is safe, who we should or shouldn’t trust, who we wish to share and care about, etc. When I learned to let go of judging myself, many wonderful things started to shift for me for the better. I became less apt to get

“If we free ourselves from judging ourselves and others, we live in love more than fear and celebrate the joy of self-trust ever more.” down on myself in any way when I let that old pattern go. I would realize that this “tension” was not really coming from me but being projected by the other person. Then I made the choice to pull away, forgive myself and them for this fast judgment. The key I find is to forgive myself for getting caught up with them in the first place and then to really use discernment in what I wish to share with them. Even though this takes away from a true level of intimacy, it serves as a shield of protection. Now to be clear on the difference of judgment and discernment. Being judgmental comes from the “I am right; you are wrong mindset.” As for discernment, this skill is used when we choose to make an informed decision from an objective point of view. We use our integrity (being moment-tomoment responsible) to honor

ourselves and others, trusting our inner voice/intuition more through love than fear. At some level, we are all moving into a higher vibration of awareness, especially readers of Evolving Magazine. Discernment is a higher vibrational tool. Discernment is the act of making choices based upon the amount of love in our hearts. Where there is love, there is no room for judgment. Another tool is to release attachments to your old belief systems, especially those which were handed down to you by parents or institutions. When daily life becomes more fulfilling and we experience some degree of joy and passion, we know we are in the flow with the world around us. If we free ourselves from judging ourselves and others, we live in love more than fear and celebrate

the joy of self-trust ever more. You truly help raise the consciousness of others just by your presence. What a gift you are as you open the doors to more intimacy of love and caring!

Chronic Headache Relief BY NANCY RUSSELL, M.D.

A

re you a headache sufferer and endure many days of pain a month? Chronic headaches are one of the most common causes of pain for people in our society. Headaches can be from many causes and must be carefully evaluated. A serious headache that sends you to the emergency room is when you have the worst headache of your life that comes on suddenly; this may be a hemorrhage or bleeding in your brain which is life threatening. If the headache is associated with numbness or weakness of an extremity, vision loss, or confusion, seek medical attention right away. Chronic headaches vary in location, severity, type of pain and are divided into primary and secondary. Primary headaches include primary tension headaches, muscle contraction headaches, migraine headaches— with or without aura, cluster headaches, cough headaches, stabbing headaches, headache from exertion, stabbing headache, hynic headache (awakens a person from sleep), unilateral (one sided) headaches, dailypersistent headache, headache from exertion, trigeminal neuralgia, etc. Secondary headaches can be due to trauma, dehydration, infection, structural problems with the bones of the face, teeth, jaw, eyes, ears, nose, sinuses, brain tumor, or other structures or substance abuse or withdrawal. The two most common types of headaches are migraine headaches and tension headaches. Forty-five million Americans have one or the other on a regular basis. Both can be very treatable and preventable with nutrition and natural remedies. Migraine headaches are caused by inflammation or irritation of structures that surround the brain or affect its function. While the brain itself has no pain nerve

“Tension headaches account for 75 percent of all headaches. They tend to start and fade away gradually, with moderate pain on both sides of the head and across the forehead. fibers, everything else above the shoulders, from the neck, skull, and face, can cause a person to have head pain. Migraines may be associated with warning signs, also called an aura, which is described as visual changes such as flashing lights or blurry vision and occasionally cause nausea, sweating, dizziness, and sensitivity to light and sound. They can last for several hours to several days and sleeping can be helpful in resolving the headache. To find underlying triggers and causes for migraine headaches can be helpful. Common triggers are cheeses, alcohol (especially wine), strong smells, MSG, and stress headaches. Potential underlying causes include unresolved emotional conflicts, relationship issues, nutritional deficiencies, food allergies and sensitivities, hormonal imbalance, etc. The most common nutritional deficiencies include magnesium, riboflavin (vitamin B2), and vitamin B-6. Other nutrients to add that may be beneficial for migraine

headaches are fish oil and the herbs feverfew and butterbur. Food allergies and food sensitivities can be assessed with blood tests or an elimination diet and hormonal testing with blood or saliva. Chiropractic care and acupuncture can also be helpful, as well as correcting TMD (temporal mandibular dysfunction). Tension headaches account for 75 percent of all headaches. They tend to start and fade away gradually, with moderate pain on both sides of the head and across the forehead. Some people describe it as a band of pain around the whole head. The immediate cause is tension in the muscles of the neck, specifically the sternocleidomastoid muscles which turn your head from side to side. Often time a tender knot or trigger point can be found in the middle of that neck muscle. This point refers pain and tenderness to the sides of your forehead in the temple area and across it. Some people get tension headaches at the base of the skull,

EVOLVINGMAGAZINE.COM

on the top of the head, and/or behind the eyes. Treatment of tension headaches include stretching exercises, topical therapies, nutritional support, and handson body work. Exercises can be learned from a physical therapist or chiropractic doctor and using Tai Chi exercises can strengthen and stretch the muscles to improve blood flow. Topical therapies include: hot compresses or cold, menthol-containing creams, essential oils such as lavender and peppermint, hemp extract creams, etc. Some headaches respond better to warmth and some to cold so alternating the treatment can help you decide which is best for you. Supplements that can be helpful are magnesium, willow bark, boswelia, and cherry extract. Better sleep can help prevent tension headaches using lavender, passion flower, gaba support and magnesium. Other therapies that can be helpful for tension headaches include massage therapy, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and dry needling. Seek assistance in your journey to minimize your headaches, get to the root of the problem and individualize a treatment plan with your integrative, functional medicine physician or provider.

simple Google search tells us that women need fewer calories and more nutrients than men to be healthy. Yet, this isn’t discussed enough. The fact is, as women—we are very different than men in so many ways (duh, right!?). However, it seems when it comes to nutrition and health many of us believe the age-old “calories in, calories out” routine and often compare ourselves way too much to our male counterparts.

The Unique Nutritional Needs of Women 

Women have a very different hormonal makeup (another duh!).

If you have the MTHFR gene mutation, as I do, you’ll want to avoid any supplements with folic acid in them and stick to a multivitamin or prenatal vitamin that uses Methylfolate instead. Get tested for this, especially if you’re pregnant.

6. Adjust your nutrition and supplementation based on your activitylevel and lifestyle. due to this. I recommend that all of my clients get their current levels checked, but going straight to a hormone therapy (i.e., a cream, pill, injection, etc) may not be wise.

Women have a unique role as the bearers of children.

There are many ways to balance your hormones naturally and often lifestyle and diet changes Women tend to be smaller can do the trick. As women age, we need extra calcium due to the decline of estrogen with menopause.

The Law of AttrACTION BY BEN JAMISON

W

idely known in pop -spirituality, the Law of Attraction is an entry point for many spiritual seekers onto a spiritual path. Unfortunately, due to only a surface level understanding of this Law, many leave spiritual practices again when what they think the Law of Attraction is doesn’t work for them. Looking at a picture of a mansion for twenty minutes each day doesn’t magically drop said mansion in one’s lap. (Thankfully. That would hurt!) The Law of Attraction requires more than vision boards. By understanding the action that the law of Attraction requires, practitioners of all levels can more powerfully use this spiritual tool. However, before we get into looking at what internal and external actions we can take to active this Law, we must first ensure that what we are using the Law to attract to us is aligned spiritually. The Law of Attraction is a Universal Law of Spirit. As such, any desire we bring to the Law of Attraction that isn’t aligned with Spirit will, at best, fail to manifest. Worse, we do manifest our desire along with significant karma. Spirit is unconditionally loving, never inflictive, and gives freely of Itself to all of us all the time. Spirit is the true nature of everyone. To ensure our desires align with Spirit, we must ask two questions. Does my desire harm, directly or indirectly, anyone or anything; and, do I want this same desire for everyone else? Given that Spirit is noninflictive, any desire that harms is unaligned with Spirit. Furthermore, Spirit is all there is. It is the Life lived by all of us, so any harm intended toward anyone is also harm intended toward Spirit and ourselves as well. Indirect harm, such as, “Once I get this thing, I’ll show them,” also disqualifies a desire.

Since Spirit gives freely of Itself to everyone all the time, any desire that you want for yourself but would withhold from others is also unaligned. A Law based on freely giving can’t be used to withhold. Furthermore, if you desire something, you obviously think that thing would be beneficial. Is it not harmful to withhold something beneficial from others? Once you’ve made sure your desire is aligned with Spirit, there are internal and external actions to take. Creating a vision board is an external action. Contemplating the vision board daily is an internal action. However, there are many more internal and external actions we can take in the activation of the Law of Attraction.

Internal Action—Claim It While you are test driving or open housing or observing loving, connected relationships, claim the experience as yours. While you test drive the car, bring the mentality that the dealer is actually a friend and you are showing off your new car. Mentally place your furniture in the house you’re viewing. Intentionally generate the feeling of being in a loving relationship within yourself.

External Action—Acting As If You may have heard this suggestion before and found it frustrating. How do I act as if I have the wealth I’m trying to manifest without that wealth? I like to schedule “and so it is” dates. Engage a confidant in your manifestation process and have External Action--Engaging conversations with them about What You Want your desired manifestation as if it If you’re attracting a car, go test had already manifested. Of drive the car even if you can’t course, you need to pick this afford it just yet. If you want to person carefully. They must be buy a house, start going to open open to the miraculous and houses. If it is a relationship, go playing deep with you. where couples go and begin observing them to create your list of what you want in a relationship. Actually write a list. EVOLVINGMAGAZINE.COM

Internal Action—Acting As If Ask yourself, “How would I be thinking and feeling if my desire were already here?” and then intentionally think those thoughts and feel those feelings. There are many internal and external actions we can take while engaging the Law of Attraction; but, we must take action! Most importantly, show up to those actions with a positive expectancy and gratitude for the manifestation already complete! Who Is In Your Energy Field? Do You Really Want Them There? (And How To Clear Them Out) BY STEPHANIE RED FEATHER

A

s empaths (sensitive beings), we naturally have very open energy fields, big hearts, and a desire to serve others. This makes us exceptional therapists, healers, energy workers, coaches, healthcare professionals, and servers in similar careers. Unfortunately, when we are not conscious of our energy field, we often have loose, sloppy, or non-existent boundaries. This means the edges of our energetic container are not well defined, if at all (think Swiss cheese). One consequence of this is that we tend to let everybody into our energetic (and even physical) space indiscriminately.

We Are Energetic Servers There are many reasons for this. On the positive end of the spectrum, it is because we are naturally kind, helpful, compassionate, and thoughtful.

On the unhealthy end of the spectrum, it can be because we are codependent, define ourselves by how others view us, or have no idea how to say no. Either way, it is not uncommon for unconscious empaths to walk around carrying everyone they know in their energy field. On multiple occasions, I have lovingly sent clients right back out my office door as soon as they arrived and instructed them to leave everyone they walked into my office with outside the threshold. Sometimes I would give them a handful of crystals to create physical representations of whom they were leaving outside the door. One client shared, “I was a little taken aback when Stephanie made me go back outside. I had no idea I was carrying so many people with me. Once I left them

outside, I was kind of disoriented and lonely because I had so much space within my energy field. I didn’t know what to do with myself. I soon realized how much I let everyone else define me.” Because it is so easy for empaths to merge with other people and take on their energy, beliefs, values, emotions, habits, and more, the line between where we end and the next person begins can become indistinguishable. In learning to disunite people from our sovereign space, it creates breathing room, frees up our life force, and gives us greater access to our own voice and truth.

But Wait, There’s More Yet to the who in your energy field, you need to also add the what. In addition to all the people, we also carry around problems, health issues, pets, decisions, unforgiveness, shoulds, old belief systems

and so much more. No wonder we feel overwhelmed and claustrophobic! It is easy to become numb to all of the baggage and energetic clutter we accumulate over time. We acclimate to it and don’t recognize how bogged down, confused and exhausted we have become in the process. Fair warning: once you become aware of these energies, it will be almost impossible to go back to ignorance of them. Which, I suppose, is the point if you want to evolve in consciousness! In the sidebar I created a powerful tool that anyone can use, as many times as needed, to become aware of who and what is in your energy field. It is an excellent exercise for illustrating just how much you are carrying around with you at any given time.

Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves even when we risk disappointing others. ~Brene Brown

ENERGY All That Is BY ANETA BARANEK

E

nergy is an interesting concept. We cannot easily perceive it with our five physical senses as we can with the physical objects. We cannot see energy or touch it, and yet…energy permeates our universe. In fact, everything “seen” and “unseen” in our world is an expression of energy. Energy is the main construct of everything that is. As Nikola Tesla is supposed to had said: “The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.” At the beginning of the 19th Century, scientists began to investigate the phenomenon of energy and its relationship to the structure of matter. The world of physics started shifting from the Newtonian, matter-based approach, to the newly defined perspectives of Quantum Physics. One of the primary scientists who contributed to the field of Quantum Physics was Niels Bohr—a Danish physicist. Niels Bohr received a Nobel Prize for his work on the structure of atoms. Bohr’s atomic model depicts the atom as a small, positively-charged nucleus surrounded by orbiting electrons. He also discovered that it is the number of electors in the outer orbit of an atom that determines the properties of an element. Following the definition of Quantum Physics, we learn that our physical and seemingly solid world that we are used to living in is not solid at all. In fact, taking anything under a very powerful microscope shows that

everything is composed of constantly vibrating atoms—just as Niels Bohr discovered. These atoms are constantly radiating individual frequency signatures. Building on the above conclusions we derive that we as humans are also constructs of energy. We ourselves are composed of a myriad of atoms which constantly emanate energy. Our electromagnetic field reflects our inner state of being and affects the environment around us. In many ways Quantum Physics has caught up with the longstanding Metaphysical research and studies. Metaphysics encompasses both: the physical realm and the meta realms (meta from Greek means “beyond”). Long before Quantum Physics became mainstream, Metaphysical teachers stressed the existence and significance of thought vibration. Thoughts are energy in motion. Each thought

the vibrational patterns we want to tune our minds to. The fact that our human consciousness, our personal energy field, directly influences our state of being, as well as the state of being of our surroundings is depicted by the work of Dr. Emoto. Dr. Emoto in his research wonderfully illustrated the energetical and vibrational nature of human thoughts. Dr. Emoto conducted a series of experiments with what he called the “water crystals”. He exposed different samples of water from various sources to different vibrational settings. He was then able to freeze the water samples and subsequently take photographs of the produced frozen water crystals. The shape and radiance of the crystals reflected the thought forms that the respective water sample was subjected to—as reflected in the above images. Dr. Emoto’s research is, in the physical realm of matter, a depiction of the unseen properties

of vibrational stimulus of thought. Like an atom in Quantum Physics, a thought is the most basic structure of the Mind. Each mental thought contains a vibrational energetical imprint. As shown in the image above, simple words of “Thank You” and “Love and Appreciation” caused the water crystals to be well-defined and form into beautiful structures. The phrases of “You make me

sick” and “I will kill you” produced murky undefined water crystals. We are energy. Not only the words that we speak and the deeds that we perform bear energetical imprint. Our thoughts do as well. In fact, our thoughts are the origination point of all the manifests in our lives. I encourage all of us to apply the quote from the Upanishads and:

The Soul Cleansing Journey BY JAE TAFARI

After attempting three suicides by the time I was 18 years old, dropping out of college, and being diagnosed with America's most common diseases, I was at an all-time rock bottom. Selfdiscovery and the power of energy healing saved my life, literally.”

wounded with childhood PTSD and America’s top STD amongst young adults, I now recognize the path that lead me into despair stemmed from a broken-hearted child. There I was, between the ages of five and 11 and exposed to the vicious behaviors of the human psyche by the kids in my West African dance group, making me their guinea pig for their sexual curiosities.

Hello, Beloveds. My name is Jae, and I want to share with you the transformative and ground-breaking journey that took me out of the valley of death and into a world of unfathomable love. If you’re anything like me—multicultural, female, mother, child, sister, or simply human, then perhaps our paths can connect in ways that will help us gravitate toward the remedies of quality living. In this article, I will offer a few practical steps to cleanse your soul from the weight of our collective trauma and some easy Chakra Balancing affirmations for you to add to your toolbox. Did you know that 50 percent of Americans (65 percent for Black Americans) are expected to encounter at least one traumatic experience in their lifetime? With a number this high, how do we even begin a healing process for

Undoubtedly, I became uncontrollable and outrageous. My emotions ran in circles of confusion and resentment. I turned the other cheek; trying to escape the nauseating As the years passed, I met a kindred spirit torment of my own brokenness. After years of who showed me a level of unconditional love falling in love with lust, limelight, and the certainty that came with non-commitment, and forgiveness I had not seen before. there finally came a moment where I questioned whether life was happening for my mankind? We are all the essence of pure highest good, or if it was time to become the energy. Every encounter–directly or indirectly change that I wished to see. –affects our flow as a whole. As one person experiences trauma, the correlation of all energy is shared. The main practices of energy healing that I exercise are meditation, movement, and botanical remedies. They have shifted my life more than ever imagined. I grew up with a naturopathic mother treating us with Goldenseal instead of Dayquil and diagnosing our headaches by measuring our amount of sleep, hydration, or nourishment. I also come from an artistic family. We dance, we sing, we draw, we write, we design; we simply create. One of the best mechanisms I have uncovered is the art of gifted remedies. All of these practices make an imprint on our energetic alignment because it nourishes our soul’s authentic nature; keeping us closer to our divine purpose on earth. My mom placed a purple tapestry of the “om” symbol on my wall. She explained that it means internal tranquility, which is what I desperately needed. I left for college and got my first tattoo. I chose that very same “om” symbol from my room in junior high. Although I didn’t fully understand this symbology, I knew that if I wanted to find peace within myself, then I was going to need a reminder everywhere I went.

Undoubtedly, I became uncontrollable and outrageous. I was 19 years old, back home with mom and so disconnected from myself, I hardly recognized who I was at first glance. I picked up a book on Self-Parenting and desperately absorbed a new style of healing. This was the first step in the direction of becoming who I was intended to be.

The Most Valuable Priorities (MVPs) to a Soul Cleansing Journey: Step 1: Acknowledge the Inner Conflict First let go of any denial that is blinding from the truth. Step 2: Accept It As It Is There is nothing that can be done to change what has happened in the past. Releasing the weight of the unchangeable clarifies what is controllable and what needs serenity. Step 3: Answer the Lesson Behind It All Everything can teach us something, if we allow it. Let this step forward be the next best thing that happens. As the years passed, I met a kindred spirit who showed me a level of unconditional love and forgiveness I had not seen before. We matured together, from partners to parents. I had no choice but to rebuild, re-teach, and re-balance my entire life’s foundation. I needed to align my values and actions to express my highest potential. This invaluable lesson taught me the practice of Chakra Balancing; relieving myself from the burdens of shame, blame, guilt, and fear, and ending the cycles of traumatic suffering. I imagine myself rotating inside each of these colorful wheels of crystal dust; releasing myself from the weight of the world. In this moment, I am safe. In this moment, I am a light of promise and a trust so strong that the chains of pain and suffering can hold no longer. I enter a new life of freedom. I have finally found a peace within.

This invaluable lesson taught me the practice of Chakra Balancing; relieving myself from the burdens of shame, blame, guilt, and fear, and ending the cycles of traumatic suffering.

This path has brought me to an abundance of hope and prosperity. It reminds me of the Truth that sets us free: Trust in the hands of the Divine Creator. in than the weather that changes from day to day. Emotions that might flit through your awareness in a matter of minutes or half a day (weather) can settle into a longer-lasting mood (climate). The moods we deem negative—depression, discouragement, despair— are the ones we’re more likely to notice and want to shift than the lighter-hearted moods of joy or contentment. As human beings, we adopt roles, preferences, priorities, and goals that filter our perceptions and shape our responses over long periods of time. We prioritize family over work, or work over family, based on deeply held values and convictions. We construct entire philosophies of living, belief systems, and identities that filter our perceptions and response to reality. Formulating values to live by is part of resilience: they are part of a moral compass that guides our life choices. But locking ourselves into values that cannot be changed in response to new experiences is not resilient. At this stage of new conditioning, you’re simply training your awareness to realize that any thought is a product of the processes of your brain, and thus any thought can change. Entire patterns of thought, no matter how complex, can change. Roles, preference, priorities, and even entire belief systems can change over time — and they do. Spiritual Horoscope 21

October Horoscope Happy birthday Libra! It’s easy to get caught up in other people’s ideas and opinions in order to please everyone and to not rock the boat. But give yourself a birthday present of selfesteem by meditating on your deepest values. Make a list of your core qualities and read it each day. Don’t get swayed from your center for romantic relationships, friendships, family struggles, or your changing moods. Being true to yourself improves all your connections and gives you inner power and vitality that will amaze and empower you!

ARIES (MARCH 21 – APRIL 19) As Venus turns retrograde, look at your finances and see where you overspend on things you don’t really need. It’s also a great time to consolidate debt. If you create a new budget, be sure to make allowance for a bit of “mad money” so you don’t rebel against tight constraints. Meditate on what’s really valuable to you, be it things, people, spiritual beliefs, or whatever. Live from your core integrity, yet also make time to have fun and play! Spend time with friends and doing activities you enjoy.

SCORPIO (OCT. 23 – NOV. 21) Venus turns retrograde in your sign! This is an eight-year cycle about relationships, finances, and self-worth. Meditate and contemplate about these topics from 2010 until now. How have your goals and values changed? Can you open your heart to forgive yourself and others? What changes can make a more fulfilling future? Also, family issues that created patterns in your life might seem permanent, but can actually be shifted and healed. You’re never stuck and love is always the answer that forges a path to greater freedom!

TAURUS (APRIL 20 – MAY 20) Venus turns retrograde, bringing crisis and healing to relationships. It’s vital to get in touch with your inner truth through meditation or quiet reflection time. You’ll intuitively sense the timing to bring up challenging topics in a clear, yet cooperative way. This “gentle conflict” enhances your partnership since it shakes out old tensions and builds strength for the future. If single, you can attract a whole new type of person. Also, this is a high career point—so you’ll have great business success this month and next!

LIBRA (SEPT. 23 – OCT. 22)

SAGITTARIUS (NOV. 22 – DEC. 21) You have many incredible ideas, but how many do you act upon? Meditate on where you’d like to be in life; then contemplate how to get there. Mars and Venus are working in such a way that you’ll be inspired to take actions that quickly lead to goals in whatever area you choose. Then you’ll want to take even bigger steps toward more success! Just remember when you create a dream, ask your inner guidance for a direct step to take to make the concept a reality. Your selfesteem will improve and you’ll also inspire people around you! CAPRICORN (DEC. 22 – JAN. 19) It’s a powerful financial month. Meditate on prosperity and see if any beliefs block you from abundance. Do you feel you have to work hard for money, rather than allowing it to flow into your life in an effortless, graceful way?

What would life be like if you didn’t stress about work, success, or finances?! Part of getting in the flow includes having fun, being playful, and cultivating friends and hobbies. Put energy in those areas to create balance in your life and you’ll be amazed with the results! AQUARIUS (JAN. 20 – FEB. 18) Energetic Mars is empowering you! You’ll gain motivation that you may not have had since the summer. Meditate on your goals and your commitment to them. Check in with yourself many times a day to keep your thoughts and mood in alignment with your desired future outcome. Since Venus is turning retrograde, you might feel anxious that relationships will interfere with your plans. But don’t make hasty decisions based upon fear or tension. By late December you’ll likely see that you can have it all! PISCES (FEB. 19 – MARCH 20) On any spiritual path, it’s essential to practice forgiveness. Work on forgiving yourself, others, and challenging circumstances. Reflect upon ways you deplete your energy by feeling victimized. Seek answers within so that you live from your empowering beliefs. It’s good to remember you always have power over your attitude. That sounds basic, but is profound. From this place of healing, you’ll feel a renewed sense of spirituality, and even a flow of money and abundance!

GEMINI (MAY 21 – JUNE 20) Meditate on your inner conversations. Throughout the day make it a spiritual practice to say, “Is this thought loving to me?” Negative, critical thoughts cause you so much unconscious stress! You can have anxiety, insomnia, or hard to diagnose health issues. Breaking your habitual dialog patterns will empower your mental and physical health. Keep this commitment to yourself! You can also have cool job offers that unfold over the next few months. CANCER (JUNE 21 – JULY 22) Even though relationships are challenging, it’s possible to balance your needs with those of others. Observe your patterns of outer anger or internal grumpiness. Maybe you assume if your partner is happy, then you have to suffer? Meditate on how things can be win/win. Let the win/lose belief fall away,

even if your family lived that way and you’ve repeated it until now. Your inner guidance can reveal wonderful solutions that keep everyone happy. Be open to have “brainstorming” conversations where you figure out answers together. Your heart will open to deeper trust and joy. Also, more prosperity comes your way! LEO (JULY 23 – AUG. 22) Watch for a tendency to create arguments with loved ones. Do you use anger or irritability as a way to distance from intimacy? Meditate on your family upbringing to see if this is a pattern you learned. Venus retrograde helps you break these unconscious habits by making them conscious! Clearing these issues creates more passion and fun in your partnership. If single, you can attract a sexy new love! Set up a quiet, lovely place for your daily meditation in your home and carry the serenity throughout your day. VIRGO (AUG. 23 – SEPT. 22) Meditate to be able to discriminate between your intuition and your fears. When your mind is still, you can connect with your inner guide. You’ll have the courage to make work changes if needed. You can also stick with health disciplines; small, constant actions that bring major healing results. If you have uncertainties, instead of spinning your wheels with anxiety, you’ll be able to take actions that lead to clarity. You are not alone; you have the love of the Universe with you at all times!
