MAYORS’ CHESS CHALLENGE 10:00AM-12:00PM. FREE. Weston Community Center, 20200 Saddle Club Road , Weston. Chess players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate in this event that is part of a series of events hosted by Mayors throughout Broward County in support of Scholastic Chess.

10TH ANNUAL BOW WOW WEEN 9:00AM-1:00PM. The City of Pembroke Pines is ready for our fur friends and their owners to have a Bark-tacular good time at the Annual Pet Halloween Event. This year’s event will take place at The K-9 Officer Craig Rupp Dog Park located at 9751 Johnson Street (just east of Palm Ave.). There will be a costume contest for all dog sizes with different categories, games, prizes, and pet related vendors. For the costume contest, walkins are welcome or applications can be completed in advance to participate. Categories include Best Family Costume, Funniest Costume, Scariest Costume, Cutest Costume and Most Original Costume. Miss Bow Wow Ween 2022 will also be crowned on this special day. The winner will receive a crown and sash, along with a prize basket valued at over $100. PARKLAND DASH 7:15AM. The Parkland Dash 5K, 5 Mile, and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place at Pine Trails Park located at 10561 Trails End. Participants can choose either a certified 5K course, 5 Mile course or a 1mile fun run/walk. 5K and 5 Mile participants will be scored and timed by AccuChip who will be providing disposable tags for all participants. The 1-mile fun run/walk can be enjoyed by individuals or families and is not timed. Strollers are welcome for all courses. T-shirts and finisher medals will be provided for the first 500 pre-registered participants. 2022 CORAL SPRINGS SOUTHERN HANDCRAFT SOCIETY CRAFT SHOW Thursday 4:00PM-8:00PM; Friday 9:00AM-8:00PM, Saturday 9:00AM-4:00PM. Admission on Thursday’s Preview Day is $3.00. Admission is free on Friday and Saturday. This year we have almost 50 new and returning vendors displaying a variety of unique crafts such as fabric arts, mosaics, children’s items, holiday decorations and ornaments, wreaths, Christian and Judaica items, country crafts and home décor, pottery and more. All our crafts are 100% handmade. Try your luck at our Raffles for a Cash Prize and Gift Baskets and enjoy Homemade Baked Goods at our Bake Shop.
