Dear Readers,

I’m so excited to start the New Year with a positive heart and a great attitude to keep moving forward with our daily lives and making the best of this year. The entire Sports & Activities Directories team would like to wish you all the best of health, happiness and success for you and your family in 2022 and beyond! The magic of Winter is a short period of time here at home, but aren’t we enjoying the fresh cool days? Beautiful weather moving into Spring is a perfect backdrop to enjoy some of the events that are happening in our city.

We are featuring a variety of outdoor concerts, moonlight movies in the park, and the puppet shows at the community center among many other events in and around Weston. From the Art Council of Greater Weston, Pops concert is back, Foreign

Films, and make sure you don’t miss out on the annual Weston World Fest that comes back to the Regional Park. The theme for this year is “Seasons” which celebrates international culture cuisine and entertainment, and performances from around the world will be highlighted. Check out our event pages for details on these events and so many more.

Deciding on which spring and summer camp your child will attend may seem far off, however now is the time to start planning! We are featuring so many awesome camps that Weston and the surrounding areas have to offer in this issue, and the next. Camps are an excellent way for your kids to expand their social circles while finding new areas of interest and fun! From arts and sport camps to educational and activities camps, there is a fun and affordable option for every child to enjoy. Don’t risk losing your spot, enroll now!

We have several informative articles from our partners. The Children’s Services Council discusses the best way to protect our children around the water. Drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages 1 to 4 years old. Children need capable, close, and constant supervision, especially toddlers who easily and quickly leave a safe, supervised area often unnoticed. In school news, read about Eagle Point Elementary launching the violin music program, Manatee Bay winning the Commissioner’s Cup at the annual

Weston Rotary event, Cypress Bay High school DECA program preparing for one of the biggest state Conferences this year, the new K.A.P.A. club keeping the kids moving in a physical exercise program, and The Sagemont School bringing the community together with basketball. Those are just a few exciting things, and you can read all the details here. It’s simple amazing what our kids are doing. I wish you a wonderful Spring and look forward to seeing you at the field, parks and around Weston, if you see me with a camera don’t be shy, say “HI”!

My best to you,

Isabel Magette
