Letter from Mayor Margaret “Peggy Brown”

Dear Weston Residents,

Welcome 2022. There is not a more popular or better place to call home than Weston! This is not just my sentiment but that of many. In fact, Weston was just listed as one of Americas 10 Hottest Neighborhoods of 2022. And back in 2021, gosh that seems so long ago now after all we have been through, Weston was ranked as the #1 Best City to Live in Broward County and #10 in South Florida. Our City was selected as one of the 50 top cities out of 30,000 across the country as Americas Best Cities to Live by 24/7 Wall St. and named the #6 Best Small Cities to Start a Small Business in 2021 by Verizon Business. This is more than reassuring as a resident and business owner to hear. When your hometown is so well ranked, and for all the reasons you chose to live or invest here, it provides confidence as well as pride. My colleagues on the dais, City Commissioners

Byron Jaffe, Mary Molina-Macfie, Chris Eddy and Henry Mead, along with City Manager

Decker and our city staff, continue to work hard to make Weston the best city in the country.

25 YEARS HAVE PASSED

I hope that you were able to come out to one or all of the events over the past year that celebrated our City’s 25th Anniversary. Our concluding celebration on December 11, 2021 – 25 Years of

Community - featured an interactive fun zone for families and a live concert. It was a great night, attended by many former and current elected officials in Weston and from around the county and it was wonderful to see our residents having a great time, celebrating our community. If you are interested in Weston’s history and those who served from the beginning and played instrumental roles in Weston becoming a City, please visit our website NEWS section at westonfl.org.
