Dear Weston Residents,

Welcome back to the start of the 2021 – 2022 school year! I know many of you are asking, “Where did the summer go?” Understandably, with the re-opening of parks, recreation centers, and increased car and air travel, the summer appeared to fly by at rapid speed. While many of us were busy with summer activities and long-awaited visits with family, I hope you had an opportunity to relax and recharge. Without question, these are exceptional times right now. Although there still remains uncertainty about what lies ahead, with regard to COVID-19, there are signs that point to an incredible and productive school year. I know the district and local school leadership have been working hard all summer to plan for a safe opening of schools and to implement best practices to mitigate risks. Their commitment to provide relevant learning experiences for your children, while maintaining a safe environment that supports their social and emotional growth, is awe inspiring.

Together, with the collaboration between students, parents, and educators, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all children! As the Mayor of the City of Weston, I am honored and privileged to work with an amazing learning community, a community who values energy and dedication in education. As a city, we will continue to keep you updated as new guidance becomes available. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work together to safely welcome our students and staff back to the new school year.
