Dear Readers,

WELCOME BACK to your Sports & Activities Directory! I hope that everyone enjoyed a fun-filled summer and was able to spend quality time with family and friends and recharge before the start of this very important school year. I’m excited to share with you that an opportunity to become the new publisher of Weston was presented to me during the pandemic. This is my first issue as Publisher. Having lived here for over 20 years, it just seemed right.

I love this community, and I have seen my kids grow up here, one becoming a senior in high school and the other going into 8th grade. The Sports & Activities

Directory started in Weston over 19 years ago and we credit the longevity and the success to being your #1 resource guide for what to do in Weston. I’m excited to continue to bring new things to the publication and continue to grow.

This issue focuses on Back to School and Fall/Winter programs, sports, and special events, as well as just about everything you need to know to get out and about again. Some of our very favorite activities and events are back and we could not be more excited! Be sure to check out our detailed event calendar for all the happenings.

If you have not already signed your child up to participate in fall sports activities, now is the time. Please encourage your children to look through the magazine and choose one extracurricular activity or more that might interest them. This will help your child(ren) find a good balance between studying, activities and sports. These skills can help teach your child time management and leadership skills, as well as how to establish goals and develop a good work ethic. Looking to volunteer? Become a Broward County Public Schools volunteer and make an impact on the lives of so many children. We encourage all parents to join their school’s PTA or PTO. These organizations are more important than ever and give parents the opportunity to remain involved with their children, know what is going on at their schools, and have their voices heard. Special thanks to my strong and devoted Sports & Activities team, we are all in this together to bring you the most valued, fun and informative publications for your families. We thank you for waiting patiently for us to get this issue into your hands again. We thank and are so grateful to our cherished advertisers for their continued business and loyalty.

We thank our cities and schools for their ongoing support. We can’t do what we do without all of you! I wish you and your children a safe, successful and fun school year ahead. We can’t wait to see you out on the field enjoying the sports and activities that you love!
