Cypress Bay High School’s ‘Sound of Thunder’

The Band program at Cypress Bay High School is an amazing place for musical, social, and physical development. It is the home of the acclaimed Sound of Thunder Marching Band, with its talented wind musicians, percussionists and colorguard performers. The program also offers a year-long high quality Concert Band and Jazz program and a Percussion & a Guard winter seasons. Mr. Dawson, Director of Bands, will welcome beginners and experienced students and make sure they thrive musically and academically, and also build life-long friendships and memories in the Sound of Thunder Family!

Our 4-year Band & Guard program is also strongly connected to the Cypress Bay Choir and Drama programs, inside a very successful Performing Arts Department!

Our students are proud to be part of the Weston community and we take every opportunity to participate in local events such as the 4th of July Hometown Parade, Celebrate The Arts, WorldFest, Mayor’s Challenge, and the Eagle Point Elementary Storybook Parade, to name a few. We also partner with Weston Elementary and Middle Schools to create strong pathways and make sure that all young students have a chance and get exposed to the many benefits of Music Education.

Don’t miss an opportunity to listen to, and watch, the Sound of Thunder at Cypress Bay Football Games, and in our school’s beautiful Auditorium for their Fall, Holiday and Spring public performances in Concert Band, Jazz, Percussion and Guard!
