Abbey Theatre The Abbey Theatre is the home of The Company of Ten, one of the best drama groups in the country. With our comfortable 230-seat main Auditorium and imtimate 78-seat studio, the Abbey Theatre is a great place to enjoy high quality, affordable entertainment. OVO at The Maltings Theatre OVO produces two major seasons of new theatre productions at The Maltings Theatre each year, in the Spring and Autumn. Alongside OVO’s in house productions, the theatre programme features associate companies including Charles Court Opera, one of the UK’s leading and most versatile chamber opera ensembles, and Dyad Productions, with its innovative yet classic interpretations of existing text. The Maltings Theatre also presents a regular lineup of live music events and a programme of weekly drama and music classes for children. The Odyssey Cinema The Odyssey, St Albans is a historic cinema on London Road with its origins dating back to 1908. In 2010 the building was purchased, after 15 years in a derelict state. A tremendous local campaign helped raise the money to restore the cinema to its 1930s era design. In May 2013, building work began and by November 2014 it was ready to begin the latest chapter in its long history. Showing a wide selection of titles each month. Including new releases, foreign language films, cult rep screenings and classics. Our large single screen has 426 seats in total. 216 in the balcony and 210 in the downstairs seating area. The cinema boasts two fully stocked bars. St Albans Organ Theatre One of the UK’s top theatre organ concert venues and home to a unique collection of self-playing musical instruments. A fascinating collection of unique selfplaying musical instruments and two Theatre pipe organs. Originally the Collection was owned by Charles Hart, who towards the end of his life, wished the Collection to remain available to the public and set up a Charitable Trust No. 276072. This is run entirely by volunteers. The tradition of Sunday opening is still continued as Charles wished so that people of all ages can enjoy these unique instruments.
