Whiplash

Experience Whiplash Beer, an innovative, independent brewery from Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 2016, co-founders Alan and Alex transformed their weekend brewing project into a thriving venture, resulting in their own custom-built brewery in Ballyfermot.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Whiplash's team of 10 has continued to innovate, brewing both modern and traditional style beers of extremely high quality. Alongside 4-6 monthly specials, the team also brews a range of yearround beers like Rollover Session IPA, Blue Ghosts Lager and Body Riddle Pale Ale.

In 2021, Whiplash earned Best International Brewery at the Honest Brew awards and later secured the prestigious Best Dark Beer Award from Beer52. Brewing great beer will always be the focus at Whiplash and will continue to drive the brand forward in 2024.

Formed in 2016 as a collaboration between two cuckoo brands (Stone Barrel & Third Circle), Third Barrel has grown to be one of the most respected brands in Irish craft beer. Brewing everything from the most wholesome Pils to Triple IPAs and everything in between. Third Barrel is dedicated to maintaining its reputation for pushing the boundaries of craft beer. At Third Barrel, efforts are consistently made to protect the planet. Over the past few years, the brewery has adapted and fine-tuned its processes to reduce its impact on the environment and increase efficiency while producing exceptional beer. Ongoing reviews and efforts are in place to identify ways to broaden initiatives for creating a healthier environment.

Carbon offset: Initiatives include a partnership with the Irish environmental agency Catch My Carbon, focused on planting native and naturalized Irish trees in the west of Ireland. Third Barrel offsets carbon from electricity and yeast-generated carbon during fermentation through this program.

Packaging: Third Barrel transitioned from bottles to cans and kegs a few years ago. Cans, being infinitely recyclable and lighter to transport, reduce the carbon footprint from distribution. Additionally, they are more convenient for consumers to carry home and bring to local recycling banks after enjoying the beer.

Local approach: Third Barrel sources malt from Irish producers and collaborates with local yeast laboratories for yeast and quality control. This not only supports the local economy but also helps cut down on transport-related emissions.

Circular economy: Waste materials produced during the brewing process, such as spent grain and used hops, are repurposed by providing them to a local farmer for feed and compost. Third Barrel is committed to sustainability and continually strives to contribute to a healthier environment through its brewing practices.
