Don’t Miss the Best Book Deal in Town!

By Cynthia Sofranac, Co-Chair of Membership, Friends of the Danville Library

Did you know that the Friends of the Danville Library hold monthly book sales? Be sure to go to the July sale on Saturday the 29th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the library’s Mt. Diablo Room. The prices can’t be beat! Most books are sold for only $2.00 for hard covers and $1.00 for paperbacks—even less for children’s chapter books. Every sale offers a little bit of everything: fiction, nonfiction, classics, vintage, cookbooks and crafts, art and music. There is also a selection of new fiction and nonfiction (2020 to 2023) priced slightly higher from $3.00 to $5.00. Credit cards are now accepted—with all proceeds benefiting our Danville Library.

And while you’re at it, bring book donations to the Bookstore that day. The Bookstore accepts books daily (except Sundays) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Friends of the Danville Library was established in 1958 to help support the many amazing programs that benefit library patrons of all ages. So join the Friends organization! There are membership benefits you won’t want to miss:

Free book with each membership (up to a $4 value), Discount on the Friends’ new book bag “Wanted Book” request service—where we find books for you! We email notices on all upcoming special offers and events.

You can get a membership form at the library or the bookstore—or download one from the library website—and turn it in at the bookstore. You will make a big difference to our Danville Library! Thank you for being a Friend!
