DANVILLE LIVING CA 7

Resident Feature School, Shawn had his own idyllic childhood, skateboarding around Osage Park with friends and swimming for Crow Canyon Country Club. In 2003, Natalie decided to ask her video production, leadership class friend, Shawn, to the Sadie Hawkins school dance. Although the intent was to attend the dance as friends, it was “such a good date that soon their friendship evolved into a crush.” Shortly after, they began dating and finished off high school attending every remaining homecoming and prom with one another. The four years of college forced Natalie and Shawn to shift gears to a long distance relationship while Natalie attended San Francisco State (graduating in 2009 with her teaching credential in middle school math) and Shawn attended UC Santa Barbara (graduating in 2009 with a Business Economics degree). After graduation, both were so thrilled to move back home to Danville. Within a few years after college, Shawn proposed to Natalie under the iconic huge oak tree at Hap Magee Park, thankfully before the 150 year old tree succumbed to trunk failure in 2016. In September 2012, Shawn and Natalie were married in Napa and have celebrated more than 20 years since they began dating…right here in Danville! To this day, Natalie’s parents and Shawn’s mom still live in their childhood homes and it has always been “their dream to raise their own family in Danville” near most of their immediate family and lifelong friends.

Meet the

Gruendl Family Hometown Sweethearts:

A family with generations of love and Danville history

F

By Anne Angstenberger, Resident since 2006 Photos provided by The Gruendl Family

or Natalie and Shawn Gruendl, sharing their love of Danville and their family story goes hand in hand. Both Danville natives, these high school sweethearts fully represent the history and community feeling that is omnipresent in westside Danville. Having been raised in the neighborhood near CPC, Natalie attended all the local schools we know and love; Montair, Stone Valley and San Ramon Valley High School. Like many children today, Natalie loved swimming for Del Amigo Swim Team, playing Mustang Soccer, joining the local Girl Scout Troop and attending Diablo Gymnastic classes. Just a bit down the road, Shawn moved to the Greenbrook neighborhood with his family when he was in the 3rd grade. Also attending our beloved local schools; Greenbrook, Charlotte Wood and San Ramon Valley High

“Wonderful Chaos” is the phrase Natalie uses when she describes the life the Gruendl family has raising 4 sons. Josh, a second grader, loves playing with his friends, fishing and collecting Pokémon cards. Ryan, a kindergartner, spends his free time exploring, riding his bike, flying his drone and being obsessed with Lego creations. Both boys also keep busy playing basketball, baseball, Mustang soccer and swimming for Del Amigo. Little brother, Luke, is 3 years old and is currently in his first year of preschool. Luke keeps busy with playdough formations, all things Cocomelon, and entertaining his baby brother, Cody (10 months old). Natalie fills her days raising the boys as well as running her own recipe website, www.tastelovely.com. Her focus is on sharing healthy family recipes that are “kid approved” as well as her favorite health and wellness tips. Being a busy mom of 4 boys, she enjoys sharing the realistic and encouraging parts of her days with levity and laughter. Bringing his career full circle back to the Danville community, Shawn works for the SRVUSD in Maintenance and Operations. This job includes working with the fire and county health departments to ensure all 37 school sites are operating safety and up to code. Shawn finds it gratifying that he attended the schools in SRVUSD as a child, and now he works on the same buildings for his occupation. Although it’s hard to travel with 4 small children, the Gruendl’s love sneaking off to travel spots within a few hours from home with plenty of outdoor activities for the boys to enjoy. Taking their jet ski and boat out to Lake Tulloch, fishing at a Cabin in Twain Harte, skiing at Dodge Ridge or spending the day at the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk are some family favorites. The Gruendl boys will be the 4th generation to attend San Ramon Valley High School, as Natalie’s family shares a nearly 100 year history in Danville! Barbara (Fredrickson) Parks (Natalie’s grandmother) was one of the first families to live in Danville. Barbara’s parents moved to Danville in 1929 with their 8 children when she was just 2 years old. They lived in a small home off Prospect Ave. that was only 2 bedrooms…baths were taken in a wash tub outside near an outhouse. Barbara’s father, Jim Frederickson, opened up the only Barber Shop in town, renting the space on Hartz Ave. Today, the small Prospect home they lived in, still stands. It is currently Villa Ravello, next to Locanda Ravello, formerly Father’s Nature Shed. In recent years, it had been converted into a two story shop site and you may have seen the historic plaque commemorating the Frederickson House as one of the original families of Danville. Another fun fact about Barbara was that she was the person who suggested the “Wolves” should be the mascot for SRVHS, which it remains today! When Barbara married Jim Parks, they continued the tradition to raise their children on the westside, including Natalie’s father, Dave Parks. Dave worked for his father’s

local construction business, eventually building dozens of homes in the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s. Natalie shares that she “loves driving around with her Dad and he points out a home he built with his Dad.” Many other memories on the westside have been shared by Grandpa Dave, such as picking local black walnuts and selling them for $2 per gunny sack to Feed and Grain (now Lunardi’s) and attending the opening ceremony of the 680 freeway in 1964. Living in a town with rich history and family friendly activities is something that Natalie and Shawn do not take for granted. One of their favorite hobbies is simply riding their bikes around town, hopping on the Iron Horse trail to get to all of their favorite places and annual events such as the 4th of July Parade, Music in the Park, Hot Summer Nights and the Danville Tree Lighting. You may see the Gruendl’s on Saturdays at the Farmers Market, eating dinner at Hazy BBQ or frequenting one of their favorite local shops, Games Unlimited. The boys love visiting with the owner, Steve, and having him help them pick out toys with the money they’ve saved up from doing chores. When Natalie and Shawn bought their current home in 2021 they knew they would love the location, right next to Hap Magee, near the special spot where they got engaged. It’s also on the same street as Natalie’s sister’s home, making it not only close to family, but also walking distance to downtown. The Gruendl family adores living in Danville and feels blessed to run into people they know and love almost every time they are out in town. Sharing in the history of Danville makes it even more exciting to have Gruendls part of the Danville Living community. We are looking forward to many more years (decades) of seeing them around town! Do you know a neighbor who has a story to share?

A Valentine’s Day Breakfast

By Stephanie Seaberg, Resident since 2010

Y

’all! I just got back from the south and I have the breakfast to end all breakfasts. It’s no secret that I don’t really like breakfast, and I don’t love sweets. But when this gorgeous avalanche of sugary pastry hit my tongue, I was forever changed. I was fresh off the plane with my husband in New Orleans a month ago, looking for our first meal of the day. I’d heard rumors about a place near the French quarter called The Ruby Slipper and very much wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I was very surprised to see a line wrapped around the building on a Monday afternoon. The menu had a variety of charming and clever southern fare that left its customers satisfied. But one dish was calling to me louder than anything else….white chocolate bread pudding pancakes with bourbon maple syrup. From that moment on, I was in a mad dash to get home and re-create these pancakes in my own kitchen. And since Valentine’s Day is coming up, this would be the perfect breakfast to serve on Valentine’s Day morning for your sweetheart.

White Chocolate Bread Pudding Pancakes Serves 2 Time: 30 minutes

You will need;

• 4 medium slices sourdough bread • 1 C. whole milk • 1 Egg • 1/3 C. All purpose, flour • 1 TBS white sugar • 1/4 tsp salt • 2/3 cup white chocolate chips, Plus extra for garnish • Butter for cooking • Maple syrup

Putting it together;

Slice the sourdough bread into 1/2 inch cubes, including the crust, and put it off to the side. In a medium size bowl, whisk the milk and egg together. Stir in the chopped up bread and stir until it’s well coated. In another small bowl, mix the flour, sugar and salt until well combined. Add that to the bread mixture along with the white chocolate chips (If you don’t have morsels, just chop up a white chocolate bar like I did) and stir

it well. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes. It will eventually look lumpy and mushy, which is the consistency you want, because these pancakes are not dainty or silky, they are robust and Artisanal. Gently heat the butter on a skillet or griddle until it is bubbling. Use a large spoon to scoop and shape 5 inch wide pancakes on your fry pan. Be sure to flatten them while they cook so that your middle is cooked through. Flip after two minutes or until golden brown, and repeat. Serve with warm maple syrup, and garnish with extra chocolate chips.

Stephanie Seaberg has lived in the East Bay for the last 30 years, and is a SRVHS Alumni. Steph is a play-writer and director for Theater Performance Workshop, KAOS Camp, and Golden Oak Montessori. Steph lives for cooking, theater, photography, travel, and singing.

Revitalize Your Appearance: Cosmetic Procedures for a Renewed You By Stephen J. Ronan MD FACS

T

o achieve a more youthful appearance for the upcoming spring season, our center provides a range of cosmetic procedures tailored to help you attain a revitalized and radiant look. Below are a few common cosmetic procedures that can help both women and men look more youthful in time for the warmer weather. Rhinoplasty The nose plays a crucial role in defining facial features, and its shape can impact overall facial harmony. Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a “nose job,” is a routine cosmetic

procedure aimed at correcting the shape of the nose to ensure it harmonizes with the rest of the face. Whether addressing concerns about width, length, or humps, rhinoplasty can create a balanced and proportional appearance. Face/Neck Lift As we age, the skin on the face and neck tends to lose elasticity, accompanied by a natural decline in fat and muscle tone. A face and neck lift can counteract these effects, offering a comprehensive solution to the signs of aging. This combined procedure provides a more youthful appearance by tightening skin and addressing sagging in both the face and neck, with results that can last up to a decade. Liposuction For those looking to sculpt and contour their body, liposuction is a popular and effective option. This minimally invasive procedure removes excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body, enhancing your natural curves and creating a more defined silhouette. Liposuction is ideal for individuals who struggle with stubborn fat pockets that resist diet and exercise, offering a transformative solution to achieve a more streamlined and toned physique.

Where residents find and recommend the best local, trusted businesses

Fat Transfer to the Face Facial volume loss is a common sign of aging that can contribute to a tired or sagging appearance. Fat transfer to the face, also known as fat grafting, involves harvesting fat from one area of the body and strategically injecting it into the face to restore volume and enhance contours. This natural approach not only rejuvenates the face but also provides long-lasting results by utilizing your body’s own fat for a more youthful look. Hair Restoration Recent advancements in hair transplant and restoration procedures have opened up new possibilities for individuals experiencing hair loss. Our hair restoration clinic specializes in offering a variety of transplant options, including the latest technologies such as ARTAS® Robotic Hair Transplantation IX, NeoGraft capabilities, FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) hair transplantation, and other non-surgical treatment options. These advancements provide effective hair restoration solutions for both men and women, catering to various stages and types of hair loss. If you are interested in learning more about any of these procedures, please stop by or contact our office at 925-7365757 to schedule a free, no-obligation consultation. We look forward to hearing from you!

The Lasting Impact Of Advertising

▶ DON’T FORGET ABOUT DIGITAL

By Jo Peek Expert Contributor

Advertising is one of the most important investments a business can make. If you stop advertising, you’ll eventually run out of leads and be limited to the customers you already have. This is why sustained advertising is key. It continues month after month, building recognition and trust for your local brand. Research published in the Journal of Marketing shows that sustained advertising leads to higher profits and sales, while short-term advertising does not produce consistent results.¹

▶ TOP-OF-MIND AWARENESS Advertising isn't a quick fix solution. It takes consistent effort, time and nurturing to grow your customer base. While only a certain percentage of people who see your ad will take immediate action, focusing on sustained advertising across digital and print formats helps create brand awareness so when customers are ready to buy, your business is already top-of-mind.

Did you know that digital advertising can drive your long-term growth? New research by Nielsen, Nepa and GfK shows that businesses are undervaluing advertising if they only measure its short-term outcomes.² Digital advertising is extremely effective for building long-term brand ROI, which is a key part of any good marketing strategy. When thinking about your marketing strategy, consider all the benefits of consistent digital advertising that can easily be paired with your print advertising efforts.

▶ STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD It's likely that your competitors also struggle during tough times or slow periods of the year. While they might use that as an opportunity to cut back on advertising, you can go the opposite direction and increase your advertising efforts. Think of your advertising campaign like a train on a track. Once it gains momentum, it's difficult to stop. Similarly, campaigns take time to produce results, but once they start to gain traction, the benefits are significant. This long-term strategy will help you stand out from your competitors and reach more potential customers in the long run.

Loving a Partner with Alzheimer’s or Dementia By Eunice O’Farrell, Executive Director, Carefield Pleasanton

C

aring for a partner with Alzheimer’s or dementia can be hard, but navigating your relationship with your partner can be even harder. The journey can be challenging, but it is far from devoid of tenderness and light. Here are some practical tips to guide you as you navigate the intricacies of loving a partner with Alzheimers or dementia: Embrace Patience and Acceptance: Memories may fade, routines might change, and communication will evolve. Accept these shifts with patience. Don’t correct, argue, or force forgotten details. Validate their feelings, even if their reality differs from yours.

Connect Through Activities, not Words: Shared activities can forge new bonds and spark joy. Choose simple, familiar tasks like listening to music, going for walks, sorting photos, or gardening. Focus on the shared experience, not flawless execution.

Rediscover Non-Verbal Language: Words may falter, but the touch of your hand, a warm smile, or a comforting hug can speak volumes. Lean into non-verbal communication to express love and build security.

Live in the Present: Memories may blur, but the present moment remains vibrant. Focus on creating positive experiences – a shared meal, a sunny afternoon in the park, a quiet conversation. Treasure these moments, and let them build a new layer of your love story. Build a Safe and Familiar Environment: Minimize clutter and disorientation. Maintain familiar routines as much as possible. Keep well-loved objects like photos and trinkets within reach to foster a sense of comfort and security. Communicate with Understanding: Tailor your communication to their current grasp. Keep sentences short and simple, avoid openended questions, and listen actively. Validate their frustrations and anxieties with empathy. Remember the Person Beneath the Disease: The essence of your partner, their humor, kindness, and spirit, endures. Focus on those qualities, reminding yourself and them of the person you love, not just the dementia. Take Care of Yourself: Prioritize your own well-being. Practice self-care through exercise, relaxation techniques, and spending time with loved ones. A healthy you can better support your partner and navigate the challenges ahead. Seek Support and Resources: You are not alone. Utilize support groups, professional guidance, and community resources. Sharing your experiences and learning from others can be a lifeline. The team at Carefield Pleasanton is always available to answer your questions about memory care for your loved one, and the benefits of a community. Are You Ready to Fall in Love? By Lisa Hopkins-Cochran, Realtor® at Compass

H

as it been a while since you fell in love with a home? Perhaps you’re ready for your first love? It’s a great time to keep an open mind about your options. If it’s been a while since you’ve looked for love, or if this is your first time, be careful not to be too caught up in modern day “home dating sites” (real estate websites with property searches). Why? Just like actual dating sites, you might miss out on your very best option, if you are too swayed by a pretty face and an exaggerated description. Back in the day, if you wanted to find a home to love, you would look for a good matchmaker first. Both then and now, a great Realtor® would get to know you and ask many questions about your lifestyle, preferences and more, to help match you with homes that best meet your needs. Prior to access to Internet searches, this was common sense. I still work this way with my own clients, but far too often, I’m amazed when I meet people who are searching for a home, who prefer to search “alone.” Just like a trusted friend, your Realtor® can point out some red flags that you should pay attention to, while you’re falling in love with a home that appears to be beautiful on the outside. It may be beautiful on the inside, too, but only time and objective evaluation will determine that. As someone looking out for your best interest, your Realtor® may also try to introduce you to a slightly less attractive home,

because they know that it has a solid foundation, good bones and loads of potential. What are the biggest home (dating) search mistakes that I see? Number one is forgetting about location. In the history of real estate, location has been the most important factor for determining current and future value. If you’re focused on pretty pictures and not the map, you might make a big mistake. Often times there are location features (both positive & negative) that are not obvious, unless you go to look in person. It’s not just about the map. A local, experienced Realtor® will also be able to share information with you that might not be obvious, such as areas that are prone to problematic soil conditions or other “invisible” factors. Second, don’t be too quick to delete the house match with unattractive pictures. Why? Some homes are staged and presented with professional excellence….and some are not. An average home with gorgeous staging and the best professional photography is far more likely to catch your attention than a great home with no staging and poor photography (home seller tip - do some research before you choose which Realtor® represents you). While they can be a great opportunity for love, beware of fixeruppers. These relationships can lead to great joy and success, if you

know what you are getting into. Do research to find out what went wrong (or was neglected) in the last homeowner relationship, and also do research to find out how much time & effort it is going to cost you to turn this home into the love of your life. Make sure that you have realistic expectations. If the last homeowner was only in the relationship for money, it’s good to be cautious. A recently renovated home might be an excellent opportunity for you (especially if you love the look and don’t wish to have to do anything). Some flips are done by very reputable contractors who take pride in doing things right. Too often, flips are done by amateurs looking to make a quick profit. In these cases, it’s common to find that the focus was entirely on outward appearance, without any attention paid to work needed below the surface. The last thing that you want to do is to get into a relationship with a home that has these issues…no matter how pretty it looks on the outside. Every home sale is unique. Teen Journalist

It's February...Love Yourself! By Kaylan Rizkalli, Member of the Danville Youth Council

A

quick glance into any store and it is abundantly clear that February has arrived. Shelves have been lined with heart shaped chocolates, packs of valentines have finally been released, and even pink and red Stanley’s have been launched! For many, these special treats aren’t enough to get them excited for February, or more specifically the fourteenth. This day- or really this entire month- is one centered on love and can often leave people feeling lonely. In reality, it doesn’t have to be this way. Instead, we should look at this month as a time to finally show yourself some much needed love and here are some tips to do just that! Through life’s crazy twists and turns, it can be super easy to forget to take care of yourself and simply keep pushing forward. One way to combat this is by spending a night completely focused on you. Whether this happens regularly (which I think is a fantastic idea) or after an especially hard week, it’s important to splurge on yourself. Putting your phone on “do not disturb” and changing into your comfiest clothes is always a must (bonus points if your PJs are Valentine’s themed). Personally, as boring as this sounds, starting off the night by quickly straightening out your room is a great way to reset, and listening to some of your favorite songs just makes it go by quicker. Since it’s February, you can take this time to decorate your room with cute Valentine’s decor! While you tidy up, order takeout from your favorite restaurant so when you’re done, you can chow down! Then, you can end the night on a good note with a great movie or book. Although this may seem simple to some, a chill night like this can often be pushed down our list of priorities, despite how much we may need it. Another idea that will be sure to leave you refreshed and confident is to show your skin some love by perfecting your skin-care routine! Taking the time to add or remove products and solidifying your routine will make you feel an immense, positive difference in

your life. A skin-care routine is an awesome way to spend ten or fifteen minutes of your time totally focused on yourself and how you feel. Plus, skin-care is something that is so easy to incorporate into your daily routine. A lengthy routine is totally unnecessary if it doesn’t work for you, and I’ve found that simpler products are often better. Skin care is one of the best forms of self-love, and February is the perfect time to start! The best thing you can do for yourself is to continuously find ways to express your emotions and feelings. A great way to do this, that will always leave you with a yummy treat (if done right) is baking! Whether you do so by yourself or with friends, baking can be an outlet for your creativity and give you a sense of accomplishment. In honor of Valentine’s Day, you can try making trendy heart shaped cake, red velvet cookies, or even chocolate covered strawberries! Hopefully, these ideas will help transform the month of February to a month focused on loving yourself and growing as a person. Besides, who says you need to wait for someone else to buy you a box of chocolates!

Finding Peace and Happiness in Your Life; Coaching to Manage Anxiety and Stress By Christina Dalton, MS, PPS, PCC, EYH Life Coach

S

tress and anxiety have been on the upswing for the last five years. Stress is common and often normal to prepare for a demanding situation. As long as it is managed it is very healthy to feel that rush of adrenaline and uncertainty. In fact, we can manage stress successfully in many different ways. Unfortunately though, more and more people are suffering from stress and anxiety that they are not able to manage. These feelings can affect any age group, from children all the way up to elderly. As a transitional executive life coach, I have found that the symptoms of stress have appeared with many of my clients. Life changes and new beginnings are very stressful. Coaching sometimes is about naming and managing the stress points. With all my client conversations, I found that writing a book on how to manage and overcome stress and anxiety seems like the appropriate decision for people that want something to read about and go to when difficult moments occur. Each person is different and the stress points can vary. But being able to have easy to go to tools to manage the feelings that occur is half the battle to problem-solving and moving forward. Having a coach in your back pocket may be the first step to alleviating the

symptoms that occur when difficult decisions need to be managed. If you can relate to this, my book, “Overcoming Stress and Anxiety” may be just for you. It is an easy read that you can find on Amazon or download on Kindle. Feel free to reach out if I can partner with you further. Let’s make 2024 the best for your happiness and well being.

Tri-Valley Animal Rescue Giving Them Another Chance By Sue James, President

EAST COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER DOGS LOOKING FOR THEIR FOREVER HOMES

Below are just a couple of the adorable, loving East County Animal Shelter dogs that are available for adoption. The shelter is located at 4595 Gleason Drive in Dublin and is totally full so instead of buying a dog - why not ADOPT A LOVABLE DOG and save a life? All of the dogs are vaccinated and if not already spayed or neutered like Elsa and Callisto -- they will be before going to their new homes. Tri-Valley Animal Rescue volunteers spend countless hours every week - walking and socializing these dogs. Getting them adopted is the ultimate goal and reward so please consider adopting a shelter dog. The dogs and our volunteers will be forever grateful.

ELSA

Hello! I’m Silly Elsa, the Bunny Dog! I’m a young, goofy and confident Siberian Husky Mix girl and I weigh around 50 lbs. My stunning bi-colored eyes, endearing antics and pawsitive, personality have made me a volunteer favorite. When I’m out on my walkies, everyone I meet can’t help but stop and say ‘hello’! Yard time is my favorite part of the day! It’s when I get my zoomies out hopping around like a bunny, play with toys and snuggle up to my volunteer buddies. I also love prancing happily back to them every now and then to

give kisses and get belly rubs so they don’t miss me too much. You will sometimes see me poke my head out through the yard fence or into bushes in deep thought. Er, no, I’m not meditating....that’s just me keeping an eye out for the squirrels who run around stealing all our acorns! Nope! Not happening! Not on my watch! Even though I’m a silly, fun loving girl, I’m still very gentle. I am a good listener and will ‘Sit’ when asked to. My volunteer buddies tell me that I have good recall and ‘Come Back’ when called, except when there is a squirrel involved. I love going on sniffaris and walk well on the leash. I’ll sometimes hop around like a bunny to show you how happy I am to be walking with you. When we go home, I’d really like to learn new tricks and continue practicing what I already know. I love learning with treats and will take them from you very gently. Come meet me and give me a chance to bunny hop into your heart....and maybe stay there furever.

CALLISTO

Callisto is a very handsome male German Shepherd. He is approximately 8 months old, and currently weighs 54 lbs. He was brought

20

to the shelter after being abandoned in Dublin by his previous owner. He has been vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. And---He’s ready to go home right away! Callisto is a young pup with energy to match. He seems smart and eager to learn though, and would be a great fit for a fun, active person or family who will provide regular exercise and continue with his basic training. Both Elsa and Callisto are located at the East County Animal Shelter – 4595 Gleason Drive in Dublin. You can see more about them and additional pictures and videos at www.tvar.ors

Danville Oaks Rugby: Thriving and Ready for a Stellar Season! By Leilani Stone, Danville Oaks Rugby Association | Photos provided by Troy Jones

W

e’re bursting with excitement at Danville Oaks Rugby! This year has been incredible, witnessing remarkable growth with over 250 players, spanning enthusiastic young athletes from U8 to High School, gracing our rosters. Last December marked the beginning of another highly anticipated rugby season, and we couldn’t be more excited with the amount of growth we’ve already had this year. During the Fall, Oaks offered free clinics which gave new players and our returning players the opportunity to come try out the sport or brush up on their skills.

Youth & Boys Middle School: Kicking Off with Passion and Building Resilience on Home Turf!

Our U8, U10, and U12 teams (coed) season games kicked off the New Year playing against other local club teams, including matches on Treasure Island and the annual Bay Area Tournament in Pleasanton. This year, we proudly boast a full Boys Middle School team, and they had the privilege to host their Bay Area Tournament games at our home field, Diablo Vista Park. Our goal for the Black, White & Gold teams is to focus on fostering resilience and turning challenges into opportunities while having a blast playing the game. Witnessing their hard work, grit, and tenacity has been a true highlight!

Girls Middle School 7’s & Lady Oaks: Thriving with New Leadership and Open Arms!

Our girls rugby program continues to develop with the addition of our two coaches, Grace Martin and Katrina Weinstein. Our Middle School 7’s team has kicked off their 2024 season at Robertson Park in Livermore playing other local club teams, while our High School Varsity “Lady Oaks” prepare for their season with strength training at D1 Training and scrimmages. Building up the program has been successful with the help of Matt Cooper, Oaks Women’s Rugby Program Coordinator. Registration is still open to join! To sign up or learn more about the Girl’s Rugby Program, please visit www.danvillerugby.com, or email info@ danvillerugby.com.

Boys Junior Varsity & Varsity: Dominating the Field and Beyond!

Our competitive Junior Varsity team is a force to be reckoned with in the Rugby NorCal Premier League. Their preseason dominance is a testament to their dedication. We can’t wait to see them showcase their skills throughout the season, which kicks off in February and stretches till April. The Varsity Boys, meanwhile, embarked on an exciting preseason trip to UCLA, participating in the Dennis Storer Classic, a prestigious round

robin tournament against 11 other teams. Their globetrotting spirit continues with their upcoming British Columbia Tour. We’re incredibly proud of their commitment and talent!

A Team Effort: Grateful for Our Partners!

We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated partners and sponsors, who play a crucial role in our success. A special shout-out to Helix Performance Physical Therapy and Dr. Wes Anderson PT, DPT, CSCS, for his invaluable support in helping our athletes perform at their peak.
