Kumar Kiran Chemudugunta, M. Pharm, (Ph. D), a rurban resident of SPSR Nellore District in Andhra Pradesh, with more than 14 years of expertise in pharmacovigilance (drug safety), computerized system validation, and career growth coaching. He worked for some of the top global IT companies, including Mahindra Satyam, Synowledge, Cognizant, and Icon. His 13year employment with HCL Technologies was his final position.

The motivation

Kiran Kumar recognized the knowledge and skills gaps of freshers to gain a foothold in MNCs during his ten-year corporate career. As a guest speaker for pharmaceutical universities he identified, students’ professional goals and their skill sets are not on the same page. He has researched the market and in 2018, there were about 60 plus life science institutions, many of which were not cost-effective. They were not able to provide placements even after training and there was a lack of appropriate support. Thus, the three pillars of academic brilliance, career aspirations, and healthcare IT industry specialists served as the foundation for Rise Trainings.

Currently, there are over 100 online and offline training institutes that offer these courses ranging from 10000 RS to 1 Lakh RS. Students and professionals select these courses based on their affordability and learning requirements. Getting trained by the right mentors will increase the chances of landing in best jobs. Only 10-12 institutes are effective at guiding students and placing them. Students and professionals should check social media proof and Google reviews to verify, validate, and authenticate the best institution for their advanced careers.

How do they operate?

Both offline and online training is offered by Rise Trainings. Rise trainings have launched two programs for its students and professionals. One is the Career Launch program for freshers/ students has taken a one-two years gap to start their career. In this program, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Writing,

Medical Coding, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Research, Argus Administration, eTMF, and Materiovigilance are the courses provide. These courses last 1 month, 2 months or 3 months duration depending on whether they are joining on weekdays or weekends.

The second program of Rise Trainings is Career Growth Program. This program is for experienced professionals to advance their careers in academia, the pharmaceutical industry, pharmaceutical marketing, and clinical practice. Program two would be classified as upskilling. “Our courses are created with the needs of the students in mind, including the best domain knowledge from the experience of over ten years, complimentary services such as free resume preparation, mock interviews, references, support for students for a year, writing a LinkedIn profile, and assigning an interview coach,” asserts the founding head.

Flagship courses

The upskilling course for pharmacovigilance experienced professionals, Argus administration and Medical Writing, would improve their career for better packages. Upskilling not only assures a profession for the following three to five years but also adds a certification to their résumé. As part of our upskilling achievements, we succeeded in switching two pharmacovigilance (PV) profiles to Medical writing. Three QA/ QC professionals switched to pharmacovigilance and Materiovigilance. Four PV professionals succeeded in switching to Argus Administration. Three Associate professors switched to Medical writing. Three Dental practitioners switched to Medical writing. A physiotherapist switched to the clinical investigator. We succeeded in achieving students with a career gap of 10-12 years who also got jobs through our courses. An ICSR case processing PV professional switched to Aggregate reporting. In less than 1000 days after its launch, Rise Trainings had an achievement of 230 students and professionals employment impact in the healthcare IT industry. 5-8 students receive employment and placements on an average for a month. To understand the gaps in jobs and placements, they constantly coordinate between industry leaders and students. They have implemented a coaching system that assigns coaches to its students after training and achieved the best outcomes. Due to the company’s involvement in the eLearning industry, they are educating their students through edtech, connecting top instructors, and implementing evaluations.
