ART SEARCH BEGINS

A FREE Visual Arts Competition for students in grades K-12, from September 6 - October 7. Students attending Plantation schools or students who are Plantation residents are encouraged to enter this contest by creating and submitting a piece of art following the contest specifications to Plantation Central Park. BIOBLITZ

9:00AM-1:00PM. All Ages. Come and kick off celebrating Plantation’s wildlife by getting a closer look at them! What’s a BioBlitz? This event will be held at Plantation Preserve Linear Park where community members work with park staff to create a snapshot of the variety of wildlife that can be found in our beautiful city. We use an app called iNaturalist to take pictures of plants, insects, and animals to see what wildlife is present in the park on this day! Children must be accompanied by an adult. FREE.

LACROSSE

PLANTATION LACROSSE All levels and beginners welcomed. Focusing on giving players of all skill levels a quality learning experience and an opportunity to have fun playing lacrosse. Players work on agility, conditioning, teamwork, and the skills necessary to play lacrosse. They are taught to respect the game, as well as the other players. Recreational teams will travel to compete against other teams in the South Florida Youth Lacrosse League. Boys and girls teams U7, U9, U11, U13 and U15 – approximately 25 kids per team. PLANTATION CENTRAL PARK PICKLEBALL COURTS Ages 16+. Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis played on a badminton - sized court with special pickleball paddles. The ball used is similar to a whiffle ball, but slightly smaller. The lower net and ball allow the game to be accessible to people of all abilities, while still allowing more competitive players to be challenged.
