#FEELTHELOVE A CASUAL FEBRUARY CELEBRATION OF LOVE BY THE POOL

Here at Confetti Fair, we cannot resist bright summer colours. So when we decided to host a Valentine's Day inspired get together for fun, we knew straight away that we wanted (an almost neon) pink, purple and teal colour scheme. We wanted to focus less on romantic love, and more about the everyday things around us which give us warm fuzzy feelings. That is, the sun, donuts and people we love! So, we gathered a few friends, some treats and some props, and chilled by the pool for the afternoon.

Even though we were meant to be celebrating Valentine's Day, we wanted our day to be a little less traditional. So in addition to the 'no red' rule, there was not a flower to be seen. I mean, who needs flowers when you have donuts to eat (but we do love them both)! Overall, a fun day was had by all of our guests.. The only downside was the wind, that meant we suffered a few (sad) balloon losses. Oh well. You know what they say. If you love something, set it free...

CUTE SHAPE PROPS

LIGHTING AS BACKDROP

These can be used for anything. All you need is a large MDF shape and sticker paper cut to the shape. Hung up as a backdrop, to decorate a table, or on a stand as a centrepiece, they work well. The timber shape was laser-cut Online Laser Cutting in Sydney. The self adhesive lettering was cut by Confetti Fair who are the proud owners of a digital die cutter (seriously, this machine will change your life)!

We bought this neon string light from ALDI. We wish we bought more colours! We ended up using 4 nails to put it in place, but an idea would be to use a large pegboard, and thread the light around the pegs to create your shape.

RE-PURPOSE KMART FINDS This humble paper towel holder can be used for a perfect donut stack! They may be available in more versatile timber or clear acrylic in other stores, but we wanted the silver anyway. TIP: You'll need larger donuts for this one. If you're concerned about food safety, wrap it in florist's tape.

EASY GLITTER COASTERS Make some cute coasters to jazz up any tablescape or dessert bar (they make a great idea for cupcakes too). SUPPLIES Digital cutter, scalpel or circle cutter Glitter card

QUICK DIY

Sticky tape or cup (to trace) Cork sheet

1. Using your cup or inside of sticky tape, trace a circle onto the back of some glitter card and cork. If you're not great at cutting circles, Fiskars make a handy circle cutting device that can be picked up from a Spotlight store. 2. Coat both sides of the glitter circle in Mod Podge, and stick the cork and glitter card together. Voila! Allow up to 72 hours to dry. Your coasters are ready!

TIP: Your local Bunnings sells MDF circles in several sizes, so if you want a sturdier and more permanent coaster, glue your glitter card to these first. 7
