WHITE CHRISTMAS
A Vision In White JESS FROM SASS EVENTS BROUGHT TOGETHER AN AMAZING TEAM OF VENDORS TO CREATE A SPARKLING WHITE VISION OF A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS WINTER WONDERLAND.
This year, I was inspired to create a winter wonderland. To suit our all white theme, we transformed The B.Space (in Sydney’s Inner West) with a white dance floor and a 10 meter balloon and tassel installation that cascaded above a customised kids table. The table was decorated with a gorgeous bespoke silk table cover and fresh blooms in an array of white tones with silver foliage.
WHY WAS THIS THEME CHOSEN? It's the most wonderful time of the year, of course! The inspiration of the white Christmas theme comes from Christmas in New York when it snows, and is also a symbolic reference to the real meaning behind Christmas – Jesus’ birthday. I wanted to keep the colour palette quite crisp and clean to ensure it represents purity.
My favourite detail was the cotton which dressed the twigs, giving it a real traditional feel.
DID YOU INCORPORATE ANY CURRENT PARTY TRENDS OR DIYs IN YOUR PARTY? We created an all white balloon cascade which incorporated silver and white tassels that started from the ceiling overhanging the children’s table down the wall which then ended through a white hooped frame. Ceiling installations of balloons and tassels are a current party trend and a great way to create a powerful ambience into the room. ■
The children were all dressed in beautiful white or silver gowns with custom flower crowns and Santa headbands. To keep them entertained we had them decorating gingerbread man cookies and they got to enjoy bouncing around in a white jumping castle whilst singing along to their favourite Christmas carols.

PINK CHRISTMAS
A Sassy Kind of Christmas PINK, PINK AND MORE PINK WAS THE BRIEF FOR THE CHRISTMAS LAUNCH OF SASSY SPRINKLES CAKERY GINGERBREAD HOUSES, INSPIRED BY ALL THINGS PRETTY
This shoot was inspired by the new Too Faced makeup gingerbread collection, as well as my love for all things pink. I wanted to create a luscious gingerbread “village” as well as a dreamy pink Christmas scene. I actually chose to create gingerbread women instead of men as I’m a solo business woman, and it would symbolise women in power. This was contrasted by the fact that I’m dressed like a 50’s housewife further symbolising that women can do and be both. The shoot was a launch for my new range as well as a way to celebrate Christmas in a non traditional way. WHY WAS THIS THEME CHOSEN? Because PINK that’s why! I am obsessed with the feminine, playful and girly nature that pink represents. The purpose was to showcase my new gingerbread range and I wanted to do it in a playful way. DID YOU INCORPORATE ANY CURRENT PARTY TRENDS OR DIYS INTO YOUR PARTY? I wouldn’t say that pink Christmas is a trend but we did do some DIYs – specifically the apron I was wearing which was a DIY project, completely handmade by my mum (D aysh Y). Party trends, I would say the balloon arch, which are used in almost every party, as well as the plinths - they are also quite dominant props used in most parties these days. ■

Dreamin' of An Epic Christmas PRE- CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS WITH YOUR GIRLY GANG HAVE BECOME UBIQUITOUS AS ACTUAL CHRISTMAS PARTIES! EPIC INSTALLS SHOWS US HOW IT’S DONE WITH A COMBO OF FAB COLOURS AND ON TREND DECOR.
We wanted to create an adults party that was 'Christmassy', yet stylish and sophisticated. We had lots of fun with colours, and food and new trends. WHY WAS THIS THEME CHOSEN? We thrive to be different, and create something never seen before. DID YOU INCORPORATE ANY CURRENT PARTY TRENDS OR DIYS IN YOUR PARTY? The current trends we incorporated were our streamer backdrops and ceiling hangers. We also included a balloon tree. Some DIYs included food boarding, and we also had fun with food shapes, as opposed to a grazing table. ■

Blissmas...a ChristmasDream DO YOU REMEMBER THAT CHRISTMAS EVE FEELING? EXCITED FOR THE MORNING? BETTINA FROM THE DECK THE HALLS AND HER TEAM OF AMAZING VENDORS RECREATED THOSE MEMORIES WITH THIS CANDY COLOURED 'BLISSMAS’. This shoot was inspired by the magic of Christmas Eve when the lights are dim and the decorations sparkle. We then move onto the joy of a dream Christmas morning with oversized presents and desserts that make your eyes sparkle. We also featured an elegant cake smash, done with a butterscotch flavoured mud cake and buttercream icing.

It's nearly time to farewell 2019 and ring in the New Year! A time to reflect on the year that was and to look forward to celebrating all the new opportunities coming your way in 2020. It's the perfect time to throw a fabulous party for all your friends and neighbours to end the year with a bang! If planning a party seems overwhelming after the busy Christmas season don't stress –we've done the hard work for you! Follow these 5 easy steps to create a beautifully styled DIY New Year's Eve party at home!
We added colour and sparkle with acrylic cake toppers from Studio T55 and fun custom cookies with cute phrases. It's important to have something tall on your bar cart to add height and dimension, if you aren't showing off a fabulous cake you could include a drink dispenser with sliced lemon or mint or a tall vase of florals. A cute table sign, sparkler cards, party horns and NYE coasters tied the whole look together.
STEP 1: SET THE SCENE A great way to wow your guests is to set a great 'on arrival' scene. We absolutely love a beautifully styled drinks table or bar cart to welcome your guests and make it super easy for them to serve themselves. Make it fun and festive by adding a few fun details to create a perfect party centrepiece. Start by adding a table runner to give it a pop of colour. We added colour coordinating items on both the top and bottom of our bar cart in gold glitter, black and pink as well as a clock to countdown to midnight. Gold party hats and fun headbands are perfect for styling your bar cart and your guests will love wearing them to take fun NYE selfies! Our show stopper (because a party without cake is just a meeting right) was an amazing two-tiered cake covered in glittery sprinkles by The Sweet Society Co. confettifair.com.au

STEP 2: MAKE IT A PARTY It’s not a party without balloons right?! A DIY balloon garland kit was the perfect way to dress up our outdoor gazebo. Fully air-inflated (no helium required) these kits can be put together a day or two before the party, which will save you a heap of time on the day. We dressed up the balloon garland by adding gold foil fringing, white and pink crepe fringe and a Happy New Year banner. Adding a few fun ‘Pop Fizz Clink” and "Happy New Year" printed balloons to either side of the bar cart completed the look and created a perfect backdrop for all the NYE photos.
STEP 4: ADD THE FUN Keep your guests entertained on the countdown to midnight with a game or two - Drinking games like the popular Prosecco or G&T Pong (a fun new take on Beer pong for the ladies), or Pong Wars are always a winner for NYE but depending on your type of crowd you could also opt for family-friendly table games like Lucky Dips Dipsticks or Charades. Lawn games such as Giant Jenga, Jumbo Naughts & Crosses, Quoits, Boules or Wooden Skittles will also please guests of all ages. Keep the kids entertained with a backyard treasure hunt, a game of hide and seek or set up an outdoor movie.
STEP 3: SERVE UP THE DRINKS Let’s face it - It doesn't matter what celebration or occasion is – Champagne is always a good idea! We opted for reusable plastic champagne flutes and paper cups to eliminate any chance of broken glass in the yard (or by the pool) and dressed up each one with gold ‘Cheers’ drink stirrers, hot pink paper straws and DIY faux-sparklers (made with leftover Christmas tinsel) and wooden skewers. A few large tubs or eskies with ice placed around the party is also a great idea for keeping all the extra bottles, cans and soft drinks cold.

A few flashlights and glow sticks will also be a huge hit. And of course music is a must! Create a play list on Spotify or tune in to your local radio station for the big count down!

STEP 5: CREATE SPARKLE AND BACKYARD FIREWORKS We all look forward to seeing some fireworks as the clock strikes midnight but instead of heading inside to watch them on TV, you can create a fun “fireworks” display in your backyard instead. Give each of your guests a confetti balloon to pop at midnight and watch the colourful confetti fireworks explode in your backyard! To ensure the ultimate surprise, we filled black “Happy New Year” printed balloons with colourful paper confetti so guests couldn't see what was inside. Each guest popped their own balloon which created a fun ‘fireworks’ display. The more confetti balloons you have the bigger the display so be sure to set up a camera to film it! Sparklers are also a NYE staple or try a confetti cannon or party poppers to see the New Year in with a (backyard friendly) bang! CONFETTI FAIR X Petal & Fern Wreath Workshop WE RECENTLY DIVED BACK IN TO WORKSHOPS AND CO-HOSTED A BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS WREATH WORKSHOP AT THE B.SPACE IN BALMAIN. The B.Space in Balmain, with its Federation style vibe was the perfect venue to host our first Christmas Wreath workshop. We were lucky enough to team up with our talented friend Kat of Sydney florist Petal & Fern who helped our attendees create their very own stunning wreath.

Kat set up all the beautiful greenery to be used on some plinths so our attendees could take their time browsing when choosing their design. There was also a gorgeous array of ribbon to choose. As guests arrived we let them nibble away on our grazing table while they chatted and introduced each other. We
then treated them to some cake from our friends at Sunflour Cookies and Cake in Box. After that, it was time to get down to business. Kat covered all the fine details involved in wreath-making, whilst taking the time to assist attendees. Everyone got to take something really special home for the holiday season!

Party Stylist's australia Christmas party NOVEMBER SAW THE FIRST OFFICIAL ENGAGEMENT FOR THE COMMUNITY OF PARTY STYLISTS AUSTRALIA AS THEY CELEBRATED THEIR INAUGURAL END OF YEAR CHRISTMAS PARTY WITH A ‘SPARKLE’ THEMED EVENT. After months of planning and prepping – it was time for the members of Party Stylists Australia to celebrate at the beautiful Reef Restaurant in Terrigal on the NSW Central Coast with a ‘Sparkle’ themed event. Hosted by Rochelle Muscat, founder of Party Stylists Australia and owner of Pop the Balloon! Children’s Parties & Events, together with Leanne Hutchinson of Party Mamma Parties & Events; members from the party and event industries were greeted with a glass of bubbles on arrival before taking the opportunity to relax,
catch up and network with a number of highly talented businesswomen who are literally knocking it out of the park in the party industry! It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up in person, discuss the latest party trends and what’s hot in 2020. But most especially it was great to share a few tragic Christmas cracker jokes whilst enjoying a great meal by Terrigal Beach. The success of this event really came down to the amazing businesses who contributed their talents – ensuring
all who attended had the most fabulous Christmas lunch setting to enjoy whilst being wined and dined. What a fabulous way to kick off the festive season!
