Today, more than 20 major cities in the country have been estimated to be running out of groundwater in the next two years ensuring around 40% of the potable water supply in India.

THE PERCEPTION OF SUCCESS

Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Live as if you were to live forever & it’s not easy to train yourself to live by this motto. But, it’s very helpful in guiding our decisionmaking process when it comes to & success. It helps me to ask a few important questions, when I need guidanceAm I leading a balanced and fulfilling life today, this very day? Or am I fixated on the future that may never be? If I am, maybe I’m a bit confused and need to stop and re-assess my priorities. It is often the case that our chasing after & success’’ - in whatever form- destroys our sense of well-being. Our happiness in the present is often sacrificed in the name of some hypothetical success. I measure my daily " success & in those terms. Have I had a good day? Am I happy? Not - was I successful today? Looking at life from the other point of view (living for eternity), adds a different dimension. It says, there’ll be loads more & successes and failures. Some of them will seem huge, but, ultimately none of this really matters in the big scheme of things. Explore, experience, enjoy. In this context, Samuel Beckett’s words come to mind- Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.”

Tanmay uncovered his perception of success where he says that most people are bound to make most of the choices unconsciously. And voluntarily, they choose to follow and forever try to live up to what other people believe is a success. Don’t you think, we tend to measure success as per the material possessions and financial status of a person- house, career, car, etc. “What disappoints me the most is that this type of success - perfectly valid as it is - does not equal happiness. If you decide to aim for that, you better be prepared to be bitterly disappointed at some point, because none of those things guarantees happiness in life,” elucidated the founder, “I believe in success by leading. By leading, I mean, being the sole (or main) judge of what success means to you personally. This takes time, reflection and courage. It’s about developing your philosophy, deciding on your goals and finding out what the purpose and the meaning of your life is. My personal definition of success is based on this quote of Mahatma Gandhi- Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Born on 22nd October 1946, Deepak Chopra is an American author who was born and raised in India. Chopra is a genius minded personality with a proven career in being a natural medicine advocate. His videos are a popular New Age motivational tool, and he has also been made one of the wealthiest and most prominent figures in natural medicine by publications. Before emigrating to the United States in 1970, Chopra examined medicine in India, where he completed both inner and endocrinological residences. In 1996, he jointly founded the Chopra Facility for Wellness.

An AIIMS alumnus, Deepak Chopra left his home country with just $25 in his pocket and with the assistance of residence at a New Jersey hospital. With his constant efforts, Chopra was promoted as the chief of medicine at the New England Memorial Hospital. Here, as an avid observer, Chopra was disenchanted with western medicine and its dependency on prescription medications. After that, Chopra read a book on transcendental medicine that has shaped his life and his work. Following a meeting with transcendental meditational guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Chopra left the New England Memorial Hospital and opened a firm dealing in alternative products, such as herbal teas and oils named as Maharishi Ayurveda Products International. Chopra helped to supervise the development and became prominent over the years of many associated hospitals. Back at the beginning of the 1990s Chopra broke out of the Maharishi and moved to California where he became Executive Director of the Sharp Institute for Human Potential and Mind/Body Medicine. • THE MEDIA TOUCH Time magazine dubbed Chopra in June 1999 as the poet-prophet of alternative medicine and named him as one of the centuries’ top 100 heroes. Besides, he was an amigo of the legendary pop star Michael Jackson, and Chopra even came to the Oprah Winfrey Show frequently. The founding members of AeSha are just like the name of the organisation; everyone from different fields excelling in various areas of research and comprehension. This led to them coming under one umbrella with an aim to priorities a gender-based lens to developmental work and create new benchmarks for more equitable organisational cultures. The nanocluster of many people who are well versed in their streams gives AeSha a unique lens to progress and attainment of these goals.

AeSha for Friendships Foundation strives to think beyond the conventional strategic poles of either the ‘corporate’ or the ‘social’. This allows AeSha to create a more amalgamating work culture and promote values that uphold human emotions and agency. The idea of AeSha was conceived at a time when its base city, Delhi NCR saw one of the most disturbing periods of violence in North-East Delhi. Both the Learning Centres are imagined as spaces for women to work and engage in the process of community learning and social support. AeSha believes in the principles of community ownership over its operations. The Learning Centers are wholly owned and managed by single mothers, women entrepreneurs, women artisans and women educators who engage in work of their own choice and making.
