Giving a short synopsis of his initial journey, Aryen asserts,

“The journey has not been an adventurous ride, but more of a learning experience. My parents— Mr. Suresh D. Kute (Chief Managing Director The Kute Group) and Mrs. Archana Suresh Kute (Managing Director-The Kute Group)—have been supportive and always encouraged me to reach my dreams and never give up. So when I proposed my thoughts about starting a company, they decided to support me.

Furthermore, they always teach me how to face difficult situations and deal with others. They also advise me to speak the truth, be sincere with everyone, and always work diligently. Because of their parenting, I am in a position where I can easily navigate my entrepreneurial journey while also being a responsible citizen who always works toward the betterment of society.” He further adds, “I founded OAO INDIA in 2018 with the sole mission to create entertaining, awesome games that all age groups can play across the globe. It took me a year (along with support and help from my parents) to build a robust infrastructure and assemble the most talented individuals from the gaming industry. The following year, in 2019, we started making games, and since then, we have not looked back. So far, we have developed and released four games in different genres. Our debut game, Krishna Makhan Masti (KMM), was released in 2020 on the auspicious day of Janmashtami. It is a Puzzle Bubble Shooting Game where you have to help little Krishna by matching three or more colored mutkies in order to save his friends. The second game is Indian Food Baash (IFB), a Match-3 Food Puzzle Game where you have to swap and match 3 or more foodstuff items to complete a level. The third game-Rise of Warr, aka ROW, is

a Strategic Card Game based on a fictional mythological war. The storyline goes that you play as a King of a small kingdom who was attacked by an evil king, and you need to defend your kingdom against an evil king and his minions.”

THE LEADERSHIP APPROACH

“Leadership serves many functions crucial to the success of any organization, but the key importance of leadership is that it provides a vision for the company. Leaders articulate the vision and what members of the company can do to achieve it. They also inspire & motivate teams and coordinate actions to advance the shared vision. Being a young entrepreneur, my leadership style is Lead by Example. I always guide my team and inspire them to do their best for the organization’s benefit. Besides this, we have an open-door policy that allows employees to share their ideas. I also interact with my team members to gain knowledge, learn about new technologies, and listen to new ideas, which help me to become a great leader,” says Aryen. COVER STORY

THE EDGE OVER PEERS

“The digital arena requires constant innovation; otherwise, you are falling behind. Another tough challenge is keeping existing customers engaged and adding new users. To tackle these, we are concentrating on growing and diversifying our user base. This will help us in analyzing users’ behavior and the different markets from where they are coming. Based on this, we form the strategies that will be implemented globally, thereby offering us an edge, especially in our growth and international expansion. To talk about Research, it is a valuable tool for growing and improving any business. It can aid in not only the development of new business opportunities but also the creation of fruitful ones. It often involves analyzing your target market and the demands of your customer base, then creating new and improved products to meet their needs. In the Indian Gaming Industry, the analysis of the market and customer base plays a significant role which can be a game-changer if it is used properly. We use the data gathered from users to understand their behavior. Based on these key insights, we develop a strategy for retaining existing users and adding new users. Besides this, we also create new ideas for game development that will be well-liked and played by all age groups,” he affirms. Experience and learning are the two cornerstones of growing an entrepreneurship. How do reflect on this statement? That was our question. Aryen confronted this question by saying,

“In my opinion, experience and learning are the two essential cornerstones of growing an entrepreneurship mindset. To run a successful business, having the right mindset could be just as crucial as meeting sales targets or creating longterm business plans. For me, interaction with my team, learning about new technologies, sharing insights, and so on helps me become a better leader. Moreover, my parents guide and support me when I am stuck on some task. They always teach me how to face difficult situations and deal with others. Ultimately, I gain knowledge and expertise to tackle any challenge and be the best version of myself.”

CONVERTING CHALLENGES INTO OPPORTUNITIES “Being the Founder of a leading game development company, there are plenty of challenges that life throws at my path. However, the most challenging is creating strategies that require analysis of the market and customer base, remotely managing teams, and keeping yourself and your team inspired & motivated. Finally, and most importantly, staying relevant with the trends and contributing to the development of the Indian gaming industry.

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK

We always emphasize customer feedback and reply to the received feedback whenever possible. Understanding customer feedback reduces problematic areas and issues and brings new games closer and more accurately to them. The oldest and most effective word-of-mouth promotion still works in the digital era because “Customer is King”. Hence, we focus on delivering stellar gaming experiences to our users.”- Aryen S. Kute.

THE ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE

“Being a young entrepreneur, I still have a lot of things to learn and comprehend. However, I understand the value of employee growth and believe that employee empowerment not only leads to higher job satisfaction but improves work performance and a greater commitment to the organization. So, I have created an ecosystem where employees have the freedom to learn, grow and share their experiences. This ensures that there is trust and understanding between them. I also encourage my team to be more independent in the workplace, which leads to increased growth, creativity, trust, and overall satisfaction among employees. Our parent organization, The Kute Group, follows a familyoriented culture. We have adopted the same culture at OAO INDIA, whereby employees feel a sense of ease and belonging at the office. This culture gives employees the freedom to share their ideas and opinions, encourages mutual respect

and understanding, and provides positive support. We are a tightly-knit team with a vision of putting OAO India on the map as the best gaming company,” affirms Aryen.

We also asked Aryen about his plans for the company, and he says, “The Indian gaming industry is generating $1.5 billion in revenue and is expected to triple this to over $5 billion by 2025, according to BCG-Sequoia India report 2021. Through my company OAO INDIA, I want to contribute to this revenue generation and boost the growth of the Indian gaming industry. She is a staunch advocate of women’s empowerment and has helped many girls and women create their own identities in the corporate world. Because of their constant teaching, support, and encouragement, I can overcome challenges and lead my company in the right direction.”Aryen S. Kute. 15

ORDINARY LEATHER GOODS MANUFACTURERS TO THE MOST ICONIC FASHION BRAND

Gucci is a high-end, luxurious Italian fashion label with its headquarters in Florence. Handbags, ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, and home décor are among its product categories. It also licences its name and branding to Coty, Inc. for fragrance and cosmetics under the Gucci Beauty banner. Currently, Kering, a French luxury conglomerate, owns Gucci. Along with Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen are all brands owned by Kering and its owner Francois Pinault. Initial Years:

The history of Gucci begins with the vision of its founder, Guccio Gucci, just like the stories of other well-known firms. Gucci was born in 1881 in Florence, Italy, into a family that produced leather goods. In 1897, he started working as a porter at the London Savoy Hotel. He www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition November 2022 INDIA

initially noticed that the visually magnificent trunks and bags that the elite hotel guests at Savoy were using had captured his attention. Due to this, Guccio made the decision to return to his hometown in 1902 and begin working for Franzi, a producer of leather goods. He honed his abilities to create excellent pieces of luggage as well as his talents as a craftsman. Guccio left Franzi in 1921 to start his own company, Gucci, and founded the first Gucci store in Florence’s Via della Vigna Nuova before opening a second one in Via del Parione. Guccio began by selling leather items to Italy’s wealthiest citizens. He was famous for his luggage, of course, but he also made horse saddles from the finest Italian leather. In fact, many of Gucci’s modern designs were influenced by the early equestrian gear it made. The Gucci brand gained popularity as a result, and the upper class in England started to take note.

The Bumpy Road of Success:

Initially, the business focused on leather products, but it has now expanded to include quality knitwear, silk items, shoes, and purses. During WWII, the label was compelled to employ cotton due to material limits imposed by the war1q. During this period, the company debuted its characteristic “Double-G” monogram, as well as the now-iconic Gucci stripe, which consists of two green stripes separated by a single red bar. Gucci had enormous success as a label of choice among wealthy travellers, Hollywood stars, and other well-heeled buyers from the 1950s onwards, famed for its lavish, sumptuous designs. Guccio Gucci died in 1953, but his three sons, Aldo, Vasco, and Rodolfo, continued the family business. The company incorporated luxury accessories such as eyewear, watches, and jewellery to their product line in the mid-1960s; goods that have since become a cornerstone of the name.

Family Feud:

Giorgio, Aldo’s son, founded Gucci Boutique on his own in 1969, which resulted in the first family conflict. In 1972, the family eventually took over the company. During the 1980s, the Gucci controversy undermined the company’s familyheld senior management and increased public attention. Paolo Gucci, Aldo’s second son, created the Gucci Plus brand on his own. Aldo received criticism for expanding the bulk of Gucci America, the business he owned abroad. To reduce family strife, the Gucci group was merged and Guccio Gucci SpA, a publicly traded corporation, was established in 1982. In May 1983, Rodolfo passed away. In order to seize full control of Gucci, his son Maurizio Gucci sued his uncle Aldo, The company’s management was taken up by Maurizio Gucci. Aldo Gucci whose age was 81, was imprisoned for a year for tax evasion in 1986 with only 16.7% of Gucci still in his possession. Withholding the remaining 50%, Maurizio Gucci sold about 47.8% of Gucci in 1988 to Bahrain-based investment fund Investcorp, which had owned Tiffany since 1984. The sales of Gucci products totalled $400 million between 1981 and 1987, including $227 million in 1990 alone. Gucci products were produced in large quantities during the 1980s, which brought in money but hurt the brand’s reputation as an exclusive luxury label. In order to get Gucci back on track, Maurizio hired Dawn Mello.Maurizio Gucci was shot and killed in the lobby of the Milan location of Gucci in March 1995. His former wife, Patrizia Reggiani, 17

was sentenced to 16 years in prison for hiring a hitman to kill him. In 1990, Tom Ford, an American designer, was employed as a ready-to-wear designer and was promoted to Creative Director four years later. During that time, Ford is credited with helping to recover Gucci’s reputation by lowering the brand’s product offering, refining its identity, and restoring the luxury and extravagance that had previously marked the name.Tom Ford showed his final collection for Gucci in 2004, before being replaced by Frida Giannini. Giannini took over men’s and women’s ready-to-wear design in 2006 and remained in that position until late 2014.

Alessandro Michele Entry

At the time of Giannini’s departure, there was a growing notion that Gucci had grown stale or unimportant, with much speculation about who might take her place. When it was revealed in 2015 that Alessandro Michele would take over as creative director of the brand, the public was taken aback. Though Michele had been with Gucci for 12 years in various roles, he was still relatively unknown as a designer, and it was unclear where he would take the company. Michele’s distinct style, which combines Gucci’s classic predilection for extravagance and opulence with a theatrical, slightly kitschy pageantry, has proven to be a major success, attracting a large number of youthful and aspirational buyers, as well as numerous fashion insiders. Gucci generated record sales under Michele’s leadership in early 2017, fueling an 11% increase in profits for the brand’s parent company, Kering, and the brand’s outstanding performance continues to this day. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition November 2022 INDIA

The Core Motivation behind this Journey

India’s real estate market is unorganised and rough, and most agents and brokers are perceived to be dishonest, untruthful, and out for their selfish financial gain. People have no idea there are still a few trustworthy brokers out there striving to earn their clients’ trust. However, because people do not trust brokers by nature, they also view trustworthy ones as unreliable. Genuine agents eventually mutate into dishonest and immoral intermediaries. A few unpleasant experiences in real estate coerced Manoj Agarwal to apprehend the absent trust. As a property investor in the United States who then moved to India, he could compare two markets, identify the variations in quality, and decide when it was suitable to buy the “excellent” in the Indian market. He was dissatisfied with several real estate-related issues, including ethics, commitment, and transparency. As a result, he launched a real estate enterprise based on the trust and clarity lacking in the unorganised real estate market. He set out to start Agarwal Estates, employing a compassionate strategy in the Indian real estate services market that is today a pioneer in gradually creating an organised sector.

What Makes Agarwal Estates Unique?

All AE’s operational methods are tailored to the customer’s needs and continually improve. As part of its Employee First policy, the company

means, such as emails. This encourages people to maintain their happiness. Additionally, the incentive programmes are designed to recognise employee achievement somewhat, inspiring employees to work harder and more joyfully toward them. Soft skills coaching in one-on-one and group settings aims to increase employee motivation and engagement. Additionally,

“all work and no play make Jack a dull boy”.

To reward the team with lavish gifts, they hold entertaining monthly potluck meetings, bi-annual outings, and award ceremonies. At Agarwal Estates, work and enjoyment go hand in hand.

Feathers in the Cap has heavily invested over the past two years in employee Process and Soft Skills Training from ICF-certified coaches, digitisation of processes to achieve standardisation and no room for error in record time, and a focus on developments in the commercial real estate space like the business model of fractional commercial real estate, which allows people to own a commercial A-grade asset at a fraction of the price. They place trust and transparency at the centre of their guiding principles and beliefs. Their KEY: Knowledge Empowers You! series helps their customers make informed decisions. Here, the idea is to demystify any misunderstandings that can stand in the way of your transaction and make the entire procedure as transparent as possible. Their trust in the clients’ unfiltered access to subject area expertise also benefits them in humanitarian aspects.

Innovation – Empowering Continuous Growth

Empowering Continuous Growth through Innovation Opportunities to ease client transactions are produced through innovation. The CRM and automation tools have been integrated as a result of this. Previously, the team would use paper and courier services for weeks or even months to obtain both parties’ signatures on agreements. With the aid of digital signatures, they have lowered the turnaround time to 1 day, which eventually aids their “Plant the Planet” mission. Additionally, they have nearly wholly automated the creation and execution of all agreements. This would not have been achievable without innovation and the drive to develop for the clients constantly.

Corporate Ethos for Employees

All communication barriers are broken down through approachability and open work culture. An employee’s failure or unhappiness is caused by unspoken dissatisfaction that is not further addressed. At AE, employees are encouraged to express themselves and offer their simple ideas to the team and management at any time through vocal and nonverbal

According to Agarwal Estates, success is measured by the rippling effects of their high-calibre services. They have developed over the years and garnered many accolades, from making the most significant effect to taking on challenging assignments. To name a few: • ISO 9001:2015, the world’s most significant quality management standard. • 1000+ testimonials and recommendations across social media and apartment owners’ community forums. • Countless referrals. • 5000+ customers • 95% customer satisfaction. • Confidence that our customers have in us. • CRM platforms for organising our data (B2BBricks) and enabling efficient customer complaint resolution (TheHouseMonk). • Digital signatures in agreements that have reduced turnover time from 2 months to 1 day.

Future Outlook of Agarwal Estates

They have been recognised as subject matter experts in the business due to the wisdom they gained over their decade-long experience accompanied by continuous R&D. They are making strides in the sector by implementing innovative technologies like digital signatures and automated contracts, CRM data management systems, and obtaining ISO 9001:2015 certification to validate their quality standards. The company’s revenues are expanding quickly and have now multiplied. For the future, as every emerging business, Agarwal Estates is looking to expand its portfolios and competencies and move forward to – • Automated rental agreements • Fractional Commercial Real Estate • Improve its visibility • Automate processes

Words of Wisdom

A leader must always welcome feedback or criticism. Success must be shared with the team, and failure must be owned so you can lead the team by example. Pawan Sharma

SQUINT EYE AND HOW CAN IT BE CORRECTED?

W

hen both of the patient’s eyes are not properly aligned, it results in a squint or strabismus. While focused, one eye performs normally and behaves normally, but the other eye frequently moves out of place. This often occurs when the extraocular muscles, which regulate the movement of the eyes and eyelids, cannot work together in unison. Because of this, neither eye can concentrate on the same object at once. This abnormality can also develop if the nervous system is compromised to the point that the eyes cannot work together effectively. Binocular vision is impaired by strabismus, which impairs the patient’s ability to perceive depth. Between 4% and 6% of Indians have strabismus, often known as squint eyes. On the other side, the incidence of premature babies ranges from 30% to 40%.

What Is a Squint Eye?

Strabismus, another name for squint, is a condition in which both eyes cannot focus in the same place at the same time. In such cases, the second eye may turn inwards, outwards, upwards, or downwards at the same time that the first eye can focus on the item being examined. This alignment problem could be temporary or permanent. Squint can occur in adults, but it’s most frequently seen in youngsters. The majority of cases of strabismus are caused by abnormalities in the neuromuscular regulation of eye movement. If untreated, it can cause amblyopia, a condition in which the brain begins to ignore signals from the affected eye. Treatment for adult squints is different from that for children because they are frequently brought on by secondary factors such trauma, brain lesions, staring at a computer screen for extended periods of time, etc.

Symptoms And Signs in Children •

From a young age, a squint is quite easy to spot. Under this condition not all of the eyeballs look straight ahead. However, a slight squint might not be as visible. Cross-eyedness is a possibility in young children, especially if they are exhausted. But this does not indicate that they squint. Parents can speak with a physician. When a toddler looks at something with one eye closed or tilts their head, it may be an indication of double vision or even a squint. A doctor’s visit is a wise decision. Normally, strabismus either appears at birth or appears after three months of age.

Causes:

The most typical reasons for squint eyes are issues with the eye muscles or nerve damage. When the muscles surrounding the eye are weaker than other muscles, they cannot effectively coordinate and cooperate. As a result, when staring at an object with one eye, the other appears to be looking elsewhere. In this case, each eye sends two distinct signals to the brain. The message from the frail eye is disregarded by the brain. Although it is present at birth, squint eyes can later develop as a result of eye injuries and general health issues.

6. 7. 8. 9.

What happens if the condition worsens?

The main side effect of squinting is adult diplopia, or double vision, caused by the eye muscles’ inability to focus on a specific object. However, in young children, it can cause suppression of the affected eye, which can end in blindness that is nearly impossible to treat later in life. It can also cause loss of vision and loss of stereopsis, or depth awareness. Amblyopia, often known as lazy eye, is the name of this disorder. It’s crucial to take notice of a squint that occurs frequently or after three months of age. Leaving it untreated could result in other issues, such as continuous double vision or blurriness Having a lazy eye prevents your youngster from experiencing typical eyesight humiliation or low self-esteem. This happens when the brain begins to reject signals from the damaged eye. Even if a squint has been neglected for a long time, surgery can help with eye alignment, but any vision issues may become permanent if they are not addressed while they are young.

Diagnosis and Treatment

As they grow, children and infants should undergo regular eye exams. Beginning eye exams at 6 months of age is advised by the American Optometric Association, or sooner if the kid has a persistent eye turn. The doctor or optician will refer the youngster to an optometrist or ophthalmologist if there are any strabismus symptoms. Before doing the test, the eye doctor will likely employ eye drops to widen the pupils. One of the tests used to determine whether a patient has strabismus is the Hirschberg test, often known as the Hirschberg corneal reflex test. The eye doctor shines a light into the patient’s eye and checks the corneas to see where the light reflects. The light will strike the middle of both corneas if the eyes are properly aligned. In the event that it doesn’t, the test can determine if the patient has exotropia, hypertropia, esotropia, or hypotropia. A few people could experience multiple tropias at once.

What are the risk factors that can cause a squint eye to form?

The following are the main risk factors for squint eye: 1. People who have had a stroke, had Down syndrome, or have cerebral palsy are more likely to acquire squint eyes. 2. Due to the additional pressure that people who are farsighted or hyperopic tend to put on their eyes to see well, they are more likely to squint. 3. Squint eye runs in families, thus those with a history of the condition are more likely to develop it. 4. one eye’s vision is blurry. 5. teenagers and adults. Older kids and adults that squint typically do so for secondary causes such as trauma, injury, brain lesions, tumours, and more.

Treatment Options: • • •

Glasses: If your child has long-sightedness or another vision issue that is causing them to squint, glasses may be able to help. Exercises for the muscles that control eye movement, such as eye exercises, can occasionally improve how well the eyes cooperate. Surgery - in this procedure, the muscles that control eye movement are moved to align the eyes properly. If glasses alone are not sufficiently effective, it might be advised. Injections into the ocular muscles: Injections weaken them, which can aid in better eye alignment. But generally, the effect only remains for a few months.

It may be necessary to treat your child’s lazy eye first, if it is a result of their squint. The most common method of treating a lazy eye is to cover the healthy eye with a patch in order to aid the lazy eye’s vision. 29

This helped us bounce back to good times with ease.” He further explains some major elements that help his company above the competition, one of them is R&D. He says, “R & D is very important in every field. The world is changing every second. We need to research new materials, tools, and alternative solutions for the processes in Renovation Industry to stay updated and deliver better and faster.”

THE BRAIN AND THE BRAND

Sharing with us his real and unfiltered side, Mr. Naik says, “Journey of an entrepreneur is always like walking to a battlefield every day. There are many instances of near death scenarios, where it tests you to the core. I would like to quote this Line from Hard things about Hard Things by Ben Horowitz that inspires me to continue this entrepreneurship. ‘The Most Important Decisions Test Your Courage more than Your Intelligence’.” He adds, “I strongly believe that reading empowers every entrepreneur. The best books I read are: Rich Dad Poor Dad, Letters from a Father to his Daughter – Jawaharlal Nehru’s Letters to Indira Gandhi, E-Myth, My Experiments with Truth, Asura by AnandNeelakantan, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson and more.” 31

THE NEW DISRUPTOR OF THE “READY TO EAT SNACK” INDUSTRY Gulshan | Business Connect They say, “Quality in a service or product is not what you put into it. It is what the client or customer gets out of it.” Whatever we intake, it’s more than important to keep an eye on its ingredients, origin, and overall production process, especially in this age where getting quality products is complex due to competition and other market factors. the market, we consider only two to three companies in terms of quality and pricing. These are the companies we compete with in terms of quality because they have a standard quality and follow ethics. If we see other unstructured companies, nobody’s following the standard norms as for FSSAI, nobody is following ethical practices. There are a few companies in the market that are following ethics. So, how we stand up in the market is because we are providing quality and better taste than others. And in terms of pricing to the ruler manufacturers, we are below them. So we are giving more margins, we are giving more money to rural India than other bigger companies in the market.”

THE PRODUCT STORY At present, Frunchy’s has its roots well spread across the metro cities of the country, including Gwalior, Indore, and Gurugram. The team Frunchy’s gives all credit for the success to the Founder Chairman, Mr. Subhash Gupta, who is a visionary, dynamic leader, and a successful entrepreneur. The other leading executives of the company, Ishaan K. Gupta and Ramit K. Gupta, have an excellent experience in Hotel Management and food processing ventures along with worldwide recognition in the same. Ramit affirms, “With innovation as the cornerstone, food quality and taste are the founding principles of our organization. The range of products has already been introduced in selected territories of India in convenient consumer packs under its brand, FRUNCHY’s.” Every single packet of Frunchy’s snacks is made hygienically by utilizing sophisticated, latest equipment corresponding to machine-driven method lines and vacuum packaging. 33

“The resulting packed range of products are of the highest quality and more than adequately comply with the food safety standards laid by FSSAI and other concerned authorities under a quality certification and endorsement done by a leading company in India. The objective is to meet and serve the needs of growing demand of domestic as well as international consumers,” says Ishaan. Moreover, the high-end products of GNPL have earned the love of consumers in almost every corner of India, be it Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Kolkata, Maharashtra, and Haryana.

PARTING WORDS Before signing off, the visionary shared some words for the budding leaders out there as well as for other players in the industry. Ishaan K. Gupta says,

“Success has no shortcut, hard work is the only way to achieve success. Keep calm, have faith in whichever power you believe in, and keep working hard. One day you will achieve the objective.”

For industry acquaintances, he asserts,

“I think all the structured and organized companies should, instead of fighting with each other, join together, help each other and create this industry 10 times bigger than the current situation. Because if we keep fighting with each other, there will be no benefit to anyone.” www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition November 2022 INDIA

At Tesla’s AI Day, Elon Musk

unveiled the humanoid robot Optimus Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, unveiled a humanoid robot prototype called “Optimus” and predicted that the manufacturer of electric vehicles will be able to construct millions of them and sell them for less than $US20,000 ($31,000). At the electric vehicle manufacturer’s “AI day” event, Mr. Musk said, “There’s still a lot of work to be done to develop Optimus and prove it.” On Friday, a prototype model that Tesla claimed was created in February strolled out onto the platform and waved at the audience. Tesla displayed a video of an automated production station at the company’s California plant performing mundane duties like watering plants, transporting boxes, and lifting metal bars. On a cart, the team unloaded the more efficient current generation bot. Mr. Musk expressed his expectation that it would soon be able to walk on its own. Existing humanoid robots, according to him, are “missing a brain” and the capacity to come up with solutions on their own. In contrast to that he further said that Tesla will have a goal to produce millions of Optimus, a “highly capable robot.” He stated that he thought it would only cost around $US20,000.

www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition November 2022 INDIA

42

Mr. Musk and Tesla executives admitted that there was still more work to be done in order to build a low-cost, mass-produced robot that could take the place of humans in the workplace. Other car companies, including Toyota and Honda, have created humanoid robot prototypes that are capable of complex tasks like shooting a basketball, and factory robots from companies like ABB are a staple of the auto industry. For a mass-market robot that may be used in manufacturing, Tesla is the sole company leading the market. An upgraded Tesla robot was hauled onto the stage by staff. A microprocessor system, actuators for its limbs, and a 2.3 kWh battery pack carried in its torso are just a few of the Tesla-produced components that will be included in the device. The robot should weigh 73 kg. “It wasn’t yet ready to start walking. But I think it will start walking in a few weeks, “said Mr. Musk. The engineers on stage catered to a technical audience, and Mr. Musk claimed that the event’s goal was to hire workers. They described how Tesla developed robot hands and used crash simulator technology to evaluate the robot’s ability to fall on its face without breaking. Mr. Musk, who has previously discussed the dangers of AI, claimed that the widespread use of robots has the power to “change civilization” and usher in “a future of abundance, a future without poverty.” On the other hand, he also asserted that in his perspective, Tesla shareholders ought to be involved in examining the company’s initiatives. Mr. Musk added, “You can dismiss me if I go insane. “This is crucial.” The quickness of Tesla’s development work since August of last year, when Tesla announced its project with a prank in which a person dressed in a white suit impersonated a humanoid robot, earned a great deal of enthusiastic feedback on Twitter. Tesla’s plans for humanoid robots were first revealed by Elon Musk at the company’s AI day in August of last year. This year’s event was postponed until the robot prototype was operational, with plans to begin mass production as early as next year.

“And it won’t change whether the robot is a robot arm or is humanoid in shape,” he continued.

To advertise the introduction of the bot on social media, Tesla posted a photo of metallic robotic hands making the shape of a heart. Initially, Mr. Musk said, Optimus would do tedious or hazardous tasks like moving parts around Tesla plants or tightening a bolt to a car with a tool. Optimus is a reference to the strong and kind commander of the Autobots in the Transformers media series. Moreover, he asserted that in the future, robots would be employed in households to perform tasks like cooking, mowing the lawn, taking care of the elderly, and even acting as a human’s “buddy” or sex partner. Heni Ben Amor, a robotics professor at Arizona State University, said it is incredibly difficult to create hands that are adaptable, human-like, and can manage many objects. According to Jonathan Hurst of humanoid robot company Agility Robotics, “there are so many things about what people can do dexterously that are very, very challenging for robots.”

From the designing stage onward, the team has worked diligently to ensure that things are done in a way that avoids using charcoal to produce CS2, optimises gas consumption, and uses exceptional TGTU (tail gas treatment unit) design for CS2 production to ensure minimal emission. Projects for saving water and electricity are found and carried out. The plant is being converted to a zerodischarge one to reduce carbon footprints while improving steam production and consumption and using the excess steam to generate electricity.

SarvM.AI is a Digital Transformation SaaS platform that uses Design Thinking, a human-centered and empathyfirst approach, uniting every member of the food value chain (i.e., producers, traders, retailers, and consumers). We intend to reduce food wastage by transforming the existing supply push to the demand pull, bridging the gap with digitizing information, offering a wider reach to buyers/sellers in retaining and expanding clientele. This contrasts with the new era of competition, which is hurting the traditional vendors that account for more than 90% of the market. BCM: VERY IMPRESSIVE. The pain and joy, the setbacks and successes, along with the ups and downs, are the key points that we will remember from our experience. ACTION ON FACEBOOK: RUSSIA ADDS META TO ‘TERRORIST AND EXTREMIST’ GROUP LIST Russia added US tech giant Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, to a list of “terrorist and extremist” organisations, according to a database from the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring, Rosfinmonitoring.

Russia banned Instagram and Facebook for “carrying out extremist activities” in March after officials accused Meta of tolerating “Russophobia” during Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. Both Facebook and Twitter platforms have not been available in Russia

since early March and Instagram was banned in the country a week ago.

META

TECHNOLOGY COMPANY • CEO: Mark Zuckerberg (4 Feb 2004) • Headquarters: Menlo Park, California, United States • Revenue: 8,596.5 crores USD (2020) • Founded: February 2004, Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States • CTO: Mike Schroepfer • Founders: Mark Zuckerberg, Andrew McCollum, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes • Subsidiaries: WhatsApp, Novi Financial, Inc., Giphy, MORE It ruled that Meta’s instant messaging service WhatsApp will not be banned because it is not used for posting public statements.

Russia banned Facebook and Instagram months ago. Russia invaded Ukraine in February. Russian officials alleged that these social media platforms www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition November 2022 INDIA

were spreading propaganda against Russia. For many small Russian businesses, Instagram was an important platform for advertising, processing sales, and 60

communicating with customers. The decision places Meta on the same list as right-wing nationalist organizations, international terrorist groups such as the Taliban, and

Russian opposition organizations. Facebook (now meta) is getting tough competition from platforms like Tiktok and YouTube. Facebook users are shifting to Tiktok and YouTube platforms. Due to this, the revenue of the company has been badly affected. The company’s

shares have fallen sharply this year. Zuckerberg, who was included in the list of the top three rich people in the world for a long time, has now slipped to number 23. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, his net worth is 50.3 billion. His net worth has declined by $75.2 billion this year.

For many years this company registered record growth and gave tremendous returns to investors. But this year the condition has become that Facebook is going to be laid off for the first time. In July, Zuckerberg told employees that the next 18 to 24 months could be challenging.
